GIRLS ARE SOFT AND WONDERFUL!!

About Me

ToolsForMySpace.comMulti-lingual lyrical skill and performance quality of this caliber are present-day rarities. Born and raised on the South-East Side of Chicago, Illinois, Lu Roc is no newcomer to the performing arts. Since the age of 8, Lu Roc has had a knack for connecting with and pleasing audiences. Back then, he did it with his skills as a percussionist; jamming on everything from drum sets to congas in a variety of different venues with a variety of different bands. In 1996, Lu Roc's unique combination of unrivaled presence and performance savvy earned him a spot with Underground Construction's house music performance group "Pamp & Da Knox." For nearly two years, Lu Roc hustled and grinded it out from Chicago's Logan Square area, eventually touring various parts of the United States and Mexico with the group while performing to the house anthem "Looking For the Butta." Lu Roc was part of a show notorious for rocking crowds of thousands - opening up for the likes of multi-Platinum recording artists "Keith Sweat" and "Ginuwine." It was then that Lu Roc began to seriously develop his lyrical talents in both English and Spanish. After an eventful period with Pamp & Da Knox, and after achieving his lifelong dream of earning a Bachelors Degree, Lu Roc decided to further improve his performance talents, thereby auditioning for and earning membership with the prestigious Latin Rhythms Dance Company of Chicago, Illinois (www.latinrhythmsltd.com). As a member, Lu Roc trained with esteemed dancer/choreographer, Maricza Valentin, and performed throughout the United States and Puerto Rico - including a number of performances at the celebrated Bacardi Congreso Mundial de La Salsa.Subsequent to 3 dedicated years of polishing his performance and dance talents, Lu Roc left the Latin Rhythms Dance Company to earn a professional degree. While away at school, Lu Roc tapped into his artistic reserve yet again and managed to create a demo CD with nothing more than his laptop computer and a $10 microphone.Upon successfully receiving a post-graduate degree and perhaps guided by fate, Lu Roc crossed paths with renowned hard-house D.J./Producer, D.J. Bam-Bam a.k.a. B. Heavy. It was during their initial meeting that B. Heavy was sold on the talents of Lu Roc, and the two have been feverently working together ever since.Lu Roc has been busy pumping out song after song in both the Hip-Hop (English) and Reggaeton (Spanish) music genres . . . all to the unparalleled and ridiculously sick production of B. Heavy. Sitting on archives of completed music and based out of "DA INFAMOUS LOFT" in Chicago's West Humbolt Park area, Lu Roc is now part of the juggernaut team known as Track Pusher Music Group, consisting of Chicagos very own D.J. Bam-Bam a.k.a. B. Heavy (www.BassHeavyMusic.com; www.djbambam.com), Felix Top Kat Lulusa, D.J. Sheik (Y.U.M.I. Music), and established Chicago promoter J.L. Naranjo a.k.a. Lu-Dog (Thrust Events).Years of dedicated preparation, God-given talent, and a bit of fate have all come together nicely, giving you Chicagos newest and arguably most gifted multi-genre recording and performing artist: Lu Roc. Check out BearWho? ft. LuRoc in the all new "Beatbox" video. Enjoy. . . The Beatbox

Sounds Like: Melodic Ambrosia. Without classifying or limiting myself to one music genre, I've dedicated my craft to evolving and improving as a complete ARTIST: plain and simple. I've studied and enjoy various music styles and cultures; from Salsa to Pop. I first fell in love with booty-house, hip-house and popular dance. I then grew an affinity for hip-hop, spanish rap and reggaeton. While I'm addicted to savvy lyrics and certain aspects of the hip-hop culture, I've seriously grown to detest many contemporary & self-labelled "Hip-Hoppers" due to their unfounded narcissism, narrow minded-ness, dependancy, and lack of motivation. Rather than falling victim to the whole "this is true hip-hop" debate, or using the hip-hop art as a tool of NGE, or equating reggaeton & hip-hop with ghetto, or limiting myself as a one-dimensional artist, I've decided to delve into all and diversify. While I refuse to proclaim myself the greatest dancer, greatest performer, greatest lyricist, greatest singer, or greatest visionary, I've been told that I can bring it by some of the best of them - and I will never cease to improve or evolve. . . NEVER. Hence, all criticism is welcome.
