Ive been part of Puerto Rican folkloric dance groups since I was 9. Some of the groups, Grupo Yuba, Las Semillitas and Cocoballet. There is nothing in this world like the music of my people. I started my dance company in 1998 when I was 17 years old in the heart of Humboldt Park.The Puerto Rican barrio of Chicago. That is the neighborhood I love and that gave me the first stages I ever got to perform on. Dancing has always been my passion and my outlet to release my frustrations and my fears.Now 17 years into my career I have become an international performer and instructor. I have performed and instructed at dance conferences throughout the USA and Europe.(Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, Atlanta, Miami, Los Angeles, NYC, Orlando, New Orleans, Boston, St.Louis, Bermuda,U.K., London, Milan, Venice, Rome, Torino, Marseille, Cannes-FRANCE, Barcelona, Sweden.....) ............................................................ ............................................................ ............... ............................................................ ............................................................ ................In 2005 I released my first instructional DVD which consist of the two dances that I love and learned on the streets of Chicago, Mambo and Hip-Hop. In my career I have been priviledged to share the stage with mambo's leading ladies such as Duplessey-Monic Walker, Yesenia Peralta, Jorjet Alcocer, Lori Ana Perez and now have the great honor to be the partner of Mambo Diva Griselle Ponce. This project was one of the biggest accomplishments of my career. For a year and a half I traveled throughout the country and gave dance scholarships to young dancers. The dancers were chosen from Chuckes Choreography of Houston, Grupo Fuego, Brandon & Serena of Chicago and my youth dance team Los Jovenes Del Swing.Besides having amazing talent these dancers were also students that excelled academically in school. All the kids are Latino from inner city neighborhoods. Im proud to say that many of them are now at Universities throughout the country and continue to work on the growth of their talent. I want to thank them all for allowing me to share what I had to offer and become a part of their lives. Each dancer is one of a kind and have all left footprints in my heart.
