HOW THE STORY GOES:
It started in the mid 90s in the little town Jyväskylä when Sammy, Jari and Eliaz founded the band Private Line. In the first years they took part in some band contests and with the money they won they recorded their very first EP called “Smooth Motions”. In 1998 Illy and Spit joined the band and after founding member Jari left the band, they all moved to Helsinki to spread their music and make a hobby to a job! In Hellcity Sammy met Jack during a joyfull night and he became a member of Private Line in 2002. Since then the line up stayed the same and hopefully will stay like this forever!!
The band released a six song EP in 2002 which was called “Six Songs Of Hellcity Trendkill”. It was the first proof of the band’s great and awesome talent to make music and the EP got very good response from public.
In 2004 they released their first complete studio album called “21st Century Pirates” which followed after the first single release “Forever And A Day”. In this year two further singles, “1-800-Out-Of-Nowhere” and “Already Dead”, were released and a tour in Italy and Spain finished this year for the pirates.
For the next release the fans in the whole world had to wait a little while. In 2006 the band presented their new stuff to their pirateers and it was kickin’ ass!! The single “Broken Promised Land” was the first piece of the new album which followed some month after and which was named “Evel Knievel Factor”. In 2007 they released their second single from this album “Sound Advice” and it was the last release by now.
Hopefully there will follow some more Pirate’s stuff very soon!!
The main influence for the band came from the great rockbands from the 80’s, like Mötley Crue, Smack and Hanoi Rocks, to mention only a few. They take the main parts of the old rock sounds and then they add their own style which signalizes the typical Private Line sound.
Private Line lyrics are less about things like love, pain and lovesickness, they are just about everyday life, about things which happen to themselves, to their friends or families. The lyrics are expressive and meaningful and they even don’t shrink back from singing about delicate issues like politics.
The band describes their show as powerful, loud, wild and nobody can know what will happen during a Private Line gig! As we could experience by our own – this is absolutely right and everybody who loves good rock music should have seen a Private Line gig in his life.
