Band Biography:

The Bitterlicks are a Rock-Punk-Country-Band from Tampere, Finland!

Raffe, Jimmy and Julius gave birth to The Bitterlicks in the beginning of the millenium

Basically Jimmy and Raffe have known each other for about a decade now and they started jamming and playing together in a funk band called "Soho Baldwin" back in the late nineties. They were having a good time and everything but also both knew that deep down inside their hearts were yearning to kick out some rock'n'roll. Jimmy has been writing some songs that weren't suitable for the funk band, so they've started to jam on those tunes with Raffe and their old singer Julius. After discussing the matter in various mind states they came to the conclusion that pretty much all of the music and especially what people were calling "rock'n'roll" was complete bullshit and waste of a good eardrum. So they decided to form a rock'n'roll band. They went through a bunch of different names and lineup changes including "Rambin Rose", until they decided on the name "The Bitterlicks". Originally they were supposed to be called The Licks but then Juliette (from Juliette & the Licks) went and stole it, so they couldn't use it anymore. They were all such bitter cunts that they had to name themselfes "The Bitterlicks". Jimmy first met Simon during the tail end of a new year's drinking binge ..... he had a bottle of booze and Jimmy was thirsty. He liked him from the start. They jammed a few times and also he bacame the drummer of the band. Erland is the newest member of their jolly group. Jimmy first met him way back when he was cooking food for the Finnish Armed Forces. Jimmy made some good soup with him and thought he was a pretty mellow guy, so he wanted to se if Erland was bassist material (although he maintains that he's a guitarist). He clicked with the group from the get-go and had the same kind of twisted humour as the rest of the band, so here they are! The finished product. THE BITTERLICKS :)

After Julius has left the band, they decided to go on as a 4-piece-band and don't surch for another singer, now this is Jimmys part ;)

At the moment the band is surching for an record company and would like to go on with recording their debut album which should be released this year

Jimmy Sweet has changed his name to Jimmy Sweat.  This is due to the fact that he loses 30% of his body weight at every rehearsal/gig.  That is all.
