Focused on my destiny.

About Me

SEE ME ON 7/15, 7/20, 7/22, 7/23 AND HEAR ME ON 7/2, 7/5, 7/9, 7/26, 7/31 IN OKC ON THE FOX NETWORK KOKH AND KOCB-CW IN OKC AND KWBT-WB IN TULSA @ 9:58PM. A little about me. I have a passion for life, love and music. And Music IS the Love of My Life! I am of African & Native American descent. I am a member of the Kiowa Tribe. I've been working with Chip Shearin, a mutli-talented individual, who is serving as my producer. You can check out his credits @ www.chipshearin.com and www.myspace.com/chipshearin. He is currently touring with Jazz saxophonist Marion Meadows and Pieces of A Dream. He makes his bass come alive and an awesome producer! But enough about him-but I must give credit where credit is due! I'm also working with my long time friend and producer Hamza Lee of FeelHood Entertainment, www.myspace.com/hamzalee.com. I'm a native of OKC and I've been fortunate to live in Chicago where I worked with Parker/Priest Productions, Eric "E-Smoove" Miller and Frayne Lewis. I also performed with local bands, The Cover Girls and THe Gentlemen Of Leisure/The Gents. My music has been featured on WGCI's Chicago Home Jams, BET's Home Jams, OKC's Power 103.5 & Tulsa's KJMZ 105.3. I moved to NY and worked with Waveform 7 Productions as a vocalist & Writer. As far as I can remember, I Loved Music. Did not realize at the time it would be a greater part of my life. I've played the piano, the alto & tenor sax, and the cello but I am the master of none. Vocals have been the only constant pursuit. I say vocals, because I use my voice for more than singing. I do voice-overs Right now I'm learning to play the guitar and eventually the bass(get ready CHIP!). But my main focus is song-writing and singing. I'm currently performing with the band Powerhouz, check our website www.powerhouz.com. Thanks for stopping by! One Love! -(..v)- Design your MySpace with MyLook -(..v)- LOVE NOTES EP : $5.99

Influences: Wow! Who have I not been influenced by! Growing up in Oklahoma, you were forced to experience all kinds of music generes. My first music experience was in the church, of course, school; Sesame Street; Zoom;School House Rock; Fat Albert & Ve Allegre(I think, thats misspelled). We only had one R&B station & it went off at night. So I listened to a lot of classic rock & disco. There was the "Boss",Diana Ross, Natalie Cole, Donna Summer, Sister Sledge,Patti Austin,Patrice Rushen,Chaka Khan,Parliement Funkadelic,Journey,The Bee Gees,Olivia Newton John and before video killed the radio star, I watched all the variety shows: Sony & Cher, The Dolly Parton Show, Carol Burnett,The Jacksons, Lawrence Welk & Yes! Hee Haw!!(LOL) Then came the eighties with MTV and I lived & breathed it 24/7 until...BET-Video SOUL! I travelled to Pontiac,MI every summer from the time I was eight and my cousin introduced me to Al Jarreau, Bobby McFerrin, The Pat Metheny Group and Micheal Franks-The Camera Never Lies! I then discovered Lady Day, Diane Reeves, Kate Bush, Sade and the diva Phyllis Hyman. As I became a lyricist, I began to understand Arethea Franklin,Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, the elements: Earth, Wind & Fire and Billie Holiday. Words that speak life. There are many more artists that have influenced my writing,my singing,my life. But the one who has influenced me the most is GOD. He gave me this gift to share with you. Every artist wants to be appreciated and I believe the greatest appreciation is when someone can experience your emotion through your artistic expression. To influence others to think, examine, communicate, love and heal. It is my prayer that my music touches and inspires you and may GOD be your influence too.LYRICAL TRANSITIONS WRITTEN AND DIRECTED BY MARLON LADD (ME), I’M HIS CO-STAR IN PART II.Part III & IV
