About Me (Laylow B. A.K.A. Mista Fearless) of Totally Kommitted:O.K.C. (Oklahoma City) is where the “Hood Legend†Laylow B is from originally. He was also raised in San Diego, California. He was drawn to music at an early age, but instead of choosing to follow an early road toward success, he chose the fast life. During that time drugs and gangs had a tremendous impact as well as influence on the youth in his community. Laylow’s family and friends consistently offered words of encouragement to him, no matter what path he decided to take. After all, the choice was ultimately his. They always told him “take your dream of succeeding in music seriously.†It seemed as if Laylow’s friends and family knew his love of music, would be that one thing to change his destiny…to save him from an early death or a life behind prison walls.
As with most youth, Laylow B had to find things out the hard way. It took having several altercations with the police and some time spent behind bars for Laylow to see that jail was no place for such a young, gifted, black male such as himself. Laylow began to reflect and come into the realization that his talent was not to be wasted.
Soon after Laylow was released from jail, he was blessed to make contact with a friend who was a multi-talented, successful producer in his own right Keytek of 77 Lanes. It was then that he began to record songs produced by Keytek. Facing challenge upon challenge he met another artist/producer by the name of Chris Issac A.K.A. Ice Dog, and it was then that the two formed the group “Totally Kommitted.†It was then that progress ensued. As disturbing as it sounds, they had a 3 ½ year run before being derailed by the incarceration of Ice Dog. Laylow felt a disturbing loss as they suffered the Bun B. and Pimp C. Fate. However, with the help of Keytek, Young Fool (R.I.P.) and a host of others he began to gain his focus and continued to travel and build his reputation in the music business. On his journey he has met and worked with several talented artists, such as Critical and the “Smugglin’ Record’s†camp based out of Dallas TX., C.A.P.O., Endough Colione, Bay area artist G.R., Fam Life, and Pureflow of DBD Muzik to name a few. He has also worked with a lot of the O-City’s best artists. Label mate and friend the late great “Young Fool†of 77 Lanes/DBD Muzik, Bcardi Rizzo, J. Rolla, Nitro, Chief and the Presidential Trap House camp, Playa C, Lo-Down, Trey Burton and many others.
Laylow is set to release his solo album “Dyin ta hear it†produced by Keytek and the Beatbroker’s camp soon. The album opens up with “the jump start (intro.), which sets the tone with a rock & roll feel to it, influenced by his love for rock music. Some of his rock influences are groups such as Linkin Park, Pappa Roach, and of course the Red Hot Chili Peppers amongst many others. Laylow has a few tracks such as “It don’t go that way,†“That Exodic,†and “ U Should “B†Mine†that show off his vocal skill (a side of him that is seldom heard). Laylow has songs like “U Betta Back Up†and “Can’t U Tell,†which tells the story of his platinum plus street credibility and “Got Cups, Got Drank†and “I See U Gotta Lot†that goes to show this artist definitely knows how to not only get the party started but keep it “hot.†Laylow B wants fans and haters alike to know that he is still part of 77 Lanes and is forever “Totally Kommitted†and that is not only a statement…but a fact!
