Born in Siouxland, South Dakota, got a bit ruffed up in Los Angeles and now living transatlantic between Berlin and Los Angeles. I have played in or co-founded many influential garage and rock bands including: The Lords Of Altamont (2000-2003), Fuzztones (1999-2006), White Trash Debutantes (2003), The Muleskinners (1995-1998), Million Amps (since 2006), and NOW the kings of swamp rock.... THE GUILTY HEARTS!! We just completed the record and I have to say it re-defines garage and southern rock into something quite dark, danceable, and hellaciously rocking! Now a word from my most faithful allies and worst critics:
"Late on Saturday night Hollywood glam-punks the White Trash Debuntantes caused quite a commotion at the Double Down Saloon. They may be gender-bending pop-culture fanatics--bassist Gabriel Hammond (The Fuzztones, Lords Of Altamont) was attired in a leopard-print dress and a black wig that made him look like Marilyn Manson's cousin--but that doesn't mean the band isn't as punk-as-fuck."
-Sin City Sounds"Gabriel Hammond not only brings a meaty, bloody throb to The Fuzztones' rythym section with his primordial pump on the bass, he can also scorch the hair off your nether regions with his hyperspace subsonic destructo-fuzz. Gabriel is like both a vampire and a cockroach. Like a vampire because he is seemingly not necessarily only of this era. He is both of the ancient past and of the future. It cannot be stated any clearer than that. Anybody that knows him will agree. And he is like a cockroach because he has a constitution of steel. He can stay up for days (this has been witnessed time and time again), he can apparently ingest any type of food in any condition under any circumstance off of any surface (including the floor and random dumpsters). If there were a giant nuclear blast today, the only living things left crawling the earth would be the cockroaches and Gabe."
-www.fuzztones.net"All I have to say is, Gabriel is for real. You know the guys in most garage bands, they're nice guys, but they're just weekend rockers... they're just average Joes. Gabe's different, he's one of a kind. He's really living a psychedelic existence. If you think he's entertaining onstage, you don't know the half of it. The stuff that comes out of his mind is the most beautiful dementia. He's truly posessed by mischievous demons of creativity. They broke the mold when they made him. And he probably grabbed it and took a leak into it. ...Then drank from it just to see how it would taste".
