About Me

Kristofer Hill/KROW – Composer,Guitarist, Pianist, Percussionist: "it all began with some pots and pans" I have been accompanying dance classes on piano, guitar, & percussion and composing for modern dance performances at ASU for 10 years, as well as teaching music for dancers at Scottsdale Community College. Composing over 35 scores for dance performance, I have been blessed to work with such choreographers and dance companies such as Keith Johnson and Conder Dance, Scorpius Dance Theater, Jennifer Tsukyama and The Paper Project, Movement Source, Kim Karpanti, and Pippa Frame. Some of my compositions for dance have been performed at the Joyce, Soho; NYU, Arizona Museum for Youth, and Scottsdale center for the arts. Performance credits also include Gammage Auditorium, PHX Symphony Hall, the Olympia Dome, WA, and Woodstock as well as many international venues.
I am also a member of some of AZ’s finest music ensembles where I play acoustic & electric guitars, piano, keyboards, & percussion.
CALO FLAMENCO: Ballet de Martin Gaxiola(Percussion and Piano):The collaboration of over 16 dancers and musicians. As one of the largest professional flamenco reperatory ensembles in the US, Calo has gained critical acclaim for their elecrifying performances. Presenting a broadway ready show, Calo is poised to bring flamenco in the US to a new level.
THE DRUNKEN IMMORTALS(Guitar and Keyboards): a seven-piece hip hop band who’s music is a foundation of Southwest Hip Hop. With many national, international tours, and recordings to their credit. HOT CONCRETE, their most recent release, can be heard on vinyl and cd with guests like Dres and Abstract Rude. Drunken has performed with such greats Public Enemy, Digable Planets, Black Sheep, and Atmosphere as well as recorded with the likes of 2MEX, Shape Shifters, and Old Dominion to name a few.
CHRIS BURTON JACOME(Percussion & Cajon): A Flamenco ensemble, under the direction of Chris Jacome, who’s passion for dance and music can be seen at concert halls, clubs, and celebrations, all over the west. Listen to their music on itunes.
JODY GNANT and BoGeSo(Guitar): A pop-soul group that performs and records internationally. It all started with oneredpaperclip.com and that led going to canad and playing for Kyle’s house warming party and hanging with Corbin Bernson in Saskatoon, Canada. The band can be seen in their music video trailer "Over" and "Hounds of Romance" at movie theatres across the US.
SHH! THE BABY’S SLEEPING(Guitar, Keyboards, Toys) a jazz and experimental group that randomly gets together but always pleases the masses.
JAMILA LOTUS: BELLY DANCE CARNIVAL(Percussion) A belly dance performance ensemble with fire breathers, virtuosic violin, and vibrant costuming.
I have also spent many years working with developmentally disabled and at risk children in music and dance workshops throughout Arizona. Educating and healing through music and dance is the basis of my lifes work. I am proud to be a guest artist with Free Arts AZ, a non profit organization whose sole purpose is to provide at risk children opportunities through the arts. I am also a guitar teacher at Notre Dame Preparatory High School and have taught workshops at Metro Arts and many other high schools and elementary schools throughout the southwest. Influences: Studied jazz guitar, piano, percussion, and composition at ASU. Futher studies include classical guitar, harmonica, and flamenco percussion. I was also blessed to study with internationally renowned composers and mad scientists Daniel Lentz and Richard Lehrman. Arthur Sabatini was also a huge influence with him being the one responsible for introducing me to post modernism, futurism, DADA, & Bahaus....
