About Me

I have been in, and around the music industry in one form or another. I started my career out as being the understudy if you will at a radio station when I was a mere lass of 15yrs. old under the mentorship program with a man named "Clark Webber, and his co-hort at the time; Mr. Larry LuJack". They allowed me to be their little gopher, and that little job alloted me the privilege of learning just how the inner workings of a radio station were run. Hence, my undying interest in becoming, to coin a term that is still in use today by most disc jockeys; "Mouth of the South". Yep. I found as did they that I could actually talk more than the radio. I was told by a then sort of God DJ to us young ones, a man that everyone in radio land came to love, and respect; Mr. Wolfman Jack, that he could at least reach over, and turn the radio off. :) That in turn throughout my years of spinning tunes from different artists led me to become more interested in learning more about that artist, and just what drove them to do what they do, and if the sacrifices they were making for themselves was worth it just to hear their voices coming back at them out of the radio? The answer was always the same from each artist I would ask this question of: Hell Yes: End of each quote: So, I decided I would rather get to know the hows, and whys of the artists out there, and ended up going on many years later to become an entertainment journalist. So, as an old dog who has interviewed more than even I can remember, here's to all of you who have greatly enriched my life just by sharing yours with me, and the rest of your listening audience, and all those who have chosen to read my written words about all said artists. I personally thank each of you who have helped me become the one journalist who still keeps asking all the questions that no one else will. MzMona Myspace Graphics

My Interests

As most humans I run the gammet of interests; however to name a few here; I like to read, write, cook, stop laughing I really can cook. I like to listen to good music, and I don't just like country, I like a very wide range of different artists. I like to travel, and last but certainly not least, I truly love my job:

I'd like to meet:

You know folks, that one is a hard one for me to answer here; however there are a couple of people in this businsess that have interested me beyond being a journalist that I would like to interview just for the sake of sitting down across from them just to hear their story of just what gave them the strentgh to continue on in this business because, the music industry is one of the hardest to make it in, and stay in it for a career that would last your entire working life. I would like to have a meet, and greet with Mrs. Marty Stuart: I have wanted to meet her, and just talk to her since I was only 15yrs. old. It is my personal opinion only that she is one of Gods most beautiful creations he ever gave the breath of life to. She was then, and still is today one of the greatest female singers on this planet, and I don't even care what genre' of music anyone is in, you are hard pressed to beat the voice of such an angelic voice as that of Connie Smith: So, I will leave this section dedicated to Ms.Smith alone.

Music:

As just stated above. I like all kinds of music. I would have to say that I am more partial to country because being a Southern Gal, I just grew up with down home good country in my veins. But, I have been known to be seen on several occasions at a Josh Groban, Cher, Yanni, Celine Dion concerts, just to name a couple that are not in the country field.

Movies:

Not a movie buff, but if I had to choose? Anything with Marilyn Monroe in it, also anything with Clark Gable in it as well. I am an old dog you all must take this into consideration here. :)

Television:

My favorite T.V. shows are: House, Bones, NCIS, All CSI Shows, Greys Anatomy:

Books:

Bible, Poe, Blake, Twain, Country Music Weekly, and way too many good authors to mention here.

Heroes:

Jesus Christ, My Husband, My Children, my sister Norma Wright, my adopted brother Mark Johnson of the Fender Benders, my pastor Ricky Lee Phelps, Mz. Hazel Smith the best entertainment journalist on this planet, Our Men, and Women of our Armed Forces, and all of those who have lost their lives in all of our wars to keep us free, and safe here at home in the United States of America. We still are free due to their sacrifices for so many years, and through so many wars, that we can all be a part of what goes on in our own country thanks to the Fallen Ones. I will not get on my soap box here folks, I am just sharing my "Heroes" with all of you. There are more for me of course, but you can't top the ones I just told you about.
