I write about the age-old archetypal human struggle to integrate the masculine and feminine aspects of our psyches; monogamous relationships that include attraction, physical and emotional love, and lifelong commitments.Historical Romance - Costumes, castles, and corsets.

MY HERO:Once upon a time, in a land far away, a beautiful, independent, self-assured princess happened upon a frog as she sat, contemplating ecological issues on the shores of an unpolluted pond in a verdant meadow near her castle. The frog hopped into the princess' lap and said: Elegant Lady, I was once a handsome prince, until an evil witch cast a spell upon me. One kiss from you, however, and I will turn back into the dapper, young prince that I am and then, my sweet, we can marry and set up housekeeping in your castle with my mother, where you can prepare my meals, clean my clothes, bear my children, and forever feel grateful and happy doing so.That night, as the princess dined sumptuously on lightly sautéed frog legs seasoned in a white wine and onion cream sauce, she chuckled and thought to herself: I don't freaking think so.
Not into television at all. Not into "reality TV" for sure. If I'm not reading or writing, I watch Movies!
Let's begin with a *few* of my favorite love stories. Then we'll dive into the genius that is Tim Burton. Afterwards, Indiana Jones, followed by Shoot 'em-ups, then a bit of comedy. Of course, it just wouldn't do without a bit of fantasy; and speaking of fantasy (Ahem.) Heath Ledger was very very sexy in Casanova; gotta' love a man in period clothing; followed by more yummy guys in period clothing. Last but in no way least: Pirates! Enjoy my collection!
AND NOW, ON DVD . . .
OMG! Get ready to laugh your bootie off! I LOVE THESE GUYS!

Here are a handful of movies that have a special place in my heart: Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead, All About Eve, The Importance of Being Earnest, The Scarlet Pimpernel, and While You Were Sleeping. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll want a copy of your very own:
Guildenstern: I think I have it. A man talking sense to himself is no madder than a man talking nonsense not to himself.Rosencrantz: Or just as mad.Guildenstern: Or just as mad.Rosencrantz: And he does both.Guildenstern: So there you are.Rosencrantz: Stark raving sane.
Lloyd Richards: I shall never understand the weird process by which a body with a voice suddenly fancies itself as a mind. Just when exactly does an actress decide they're HER words she's speaking and HER thoughts she's expressing?
Margo Channing: Usually at the point where she has to rewrite and rethink them, to keep the audience from leaving the theatre!Lloyd Richards: There comes a time that a piano realizes that it has not written a concerto.
Margo Channing: And you, I take it, are the Paderewski who plays his concerto on me, the piano?Lloyd Richards: What makes you think either Miller or Sherwood would stand for the nonsense I take from you? You'd better stick to Beaumont and Fletcher! They've been dead for three hundred years!Margo Channing: ALL playwrights should be dead for three hundred years!
Lady Bracknell: Never speak disrespectfully of Society, Algernon, only people who can’t get into it do that.
Chauvelin: I take it, sir, that you do not approve of our new society.Sir Percy: Approval, sir, in my opinion, demands the attainment of perfection. And in that sense, you rather overrate the charms of your society. I'faith, for one thing, it does seem monstrous ill-dressed for any society, even a new one.
Jack: [About Lucy] I'd say that she gets under your skin as soon as you meet her. She drives you so nuts you don't know whether to hug her or, or just really arm wrestle her. She would go all the way to Europe just to get a stamp in her passport. I don't know if that amounts to insanity, or just being really, really... likable.
Have you seen this short by Tim Burton? It's a *must see* for the ardent fan:
