A dream of spring-days, and of golden light

About Me

I am a bit involved.
"And the day came when the risk
it took to remain tightly closed in
a bud was more painful than the risk
it took to bloom." ~Anais Nin

"SKIN BLOOD AND BONE is the school
in which the soul learns flight."
- Clive Barker
I have been neglecting my space due to my current
obsession and involvement with my new project: HEX MAGAZINE (www.myspace.com/hexmagazine)

A MINORITY OF ONE
Is a music project that I do with my husband Jason Craban, Markus Wolff, and Jason O'neill-Butler.

I also had the pleasure and honor to work
on a project called "Infernal Proteus" A beautiful
collection of music, images, and words. A musical
herbal, a journey around the world with 40 bands.
I did the layout, design, and some artwork for this
compilation which contains four CDs and a 96 page
full color, hard cover book. It is amazing.
Check it out and enjoy...

My Interests

GOOD FOOD
GOOD MUSIC
GOOD PEOPLE
GOOD LOVIN!

beauty, dance, death, sensuality, waterfalls, and lush nature.

I'd like to meet:

anyone who dares to face the things that they are afraid of. not warriors in the hall who talk of brave deeds, but those who dance those deeds with fire in their toes. anyone who can stand still while Death cleaves them in two...knowing it is another step in the journey. dreamers, lovers, revolutionaries. people who know they are special despite what the mediocre try to tell them. people who don't think they're special but just do what their heart and soul requires of them. people who have a sparkle in their eye, even though we live in a new dark age. people who dare to love. dare to live. people who carry the old songs up to the sun. people who think these things are cliché. or that they just happen in movies. you know who you are.

people who enjoy the richness and variety woven through the tapestry of our lives. people who know that their soul is intricately connected to the soul of the world. people who honor the WISDOM of the traditions and cultures of the whole world. people who have not been brainwashed by colonial propaganda that seeks superiority and runs from death and change. people who do not seek to "better" themselves from the oppression of others. people who do not believe that evolution happens through "survival of the fittest." people who feel that there is a rhythm and beauty to the unfolding of the story of earth. people who see that nature abhors monoculture and believe in her wisdom. people who take responsibility for their own mess! people who take pride in their deeds NOT the color of their skin! people who dream in color! people who have not let their spirituality flatten into rigid fundamentalism. people who aren't looking for answers but instead are seeking the mystery!

Music:

i could never list all of the music i like, these are the ones who have altered my consciousness. the very first album i remember having an obsession with was Pink Floyd - the Wall when i was 4, then i moved quickly into ABBA. Sing the words from Another Brick in the Wall to the tune of Dancing Queen and you have a poignant view into my soul.

Moon Lay Hidden, Dead Can Dance, Crass, Garmarna, Hedningarna, Neurosis - Souls at Zero - my favorite album ever, Radiohead, Nick Cave, Test Dept, Bauhaus, Siouxie, Swans - Great Annihilater - 2nd favorite, Angels of Light, Waldteufel, Backworld, Nature and Organization, L'Orchestre Noir, Of the Wand and the Moon, Trial of the Bow, Tenhi, Sol Invictus, Corvus Corax, Cranes, Kate Bush, Danielle Dax, Butthole Surfers, Devendra Banhart, Nick Drake, Nico, Hagalaz Runedance, Dessacord Majeur, Zero Kama, Marianne Faithful, Love and Rockets, The Cure, Violent Femmes, Ohgr, Rhea's Obsession, 16 Horsepower, Faun Fables, Black Sabbath, The Doors, Led Zeppelin, In Gowan Ring, Flux of Pink Indians, The Ex, Apocalyptica, Faith and the Muse, Killing Joke, Adam Ant, Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton, Current 93, Brian Eno, Skinny Puppy, Primordial, Rudimentary Peni - Cacophony - one of the greatest aural experiences you'll ever get, Portishead, LOVE, Fleetwood Mac, Steeleye Span, early Clannad, folk music from all over the world!...
and ofcourse i grew up on DC Hard Core! Go figure.

And the very best show I've ever seen is LAIBACH - fucking amazing! Well, and then there's Crash Worship and the Red King...I give up.

Movies:

SHADOWS OF FORGOTTEN ANCESTORS, KING KONG - it's fucking brilliant, Holy Mountain, Baraka, Latcho Drom, CONAN, TWIN PEAKS : Fire Walk with Me, Dark Crystal, Queen Margot, Emilie, Kurosawa's Dreams, NATURAL BORN KILLERS -one of the most perfect films ever made, Fellowship of the Ring, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Begotten, Gangs of New York, Bride with White Hair, Cold Mountain, Viking Queen!, PATHFINDER (the orginal), the Seventh Seal, V for Vendetta, The New World, the Governess, the Cook the Thief his Wife and her Lover, Prospero's Books, WICKERMAN (PLEASE! the original, not the new garbage), Like Water for Chocolate, Elizabeth, 13th Warrior, Erik the Viking, Monty Python, Brazil!, Princess Mononoke, 16 Candles, Pretty in Pink, Being John Malkovich, High Fidelity, Pulp Fiction, Henry & June, Peter Pan, City of Lost Children, Medea, Bram Stoker's Dracula, Bulgarian Erotic Epic...too many to name.

Television:

What is that?

Books:

Lord of the Rings, Mysts of Avalon, Imajica, the Poisonwood Bible, Harry Potter, Sandman, Tales of the Cairds, Dragon and the Unicorn, Name of the Rose, 5th Sacred Thing, People's History of the United States, Secret Life of Plants, Botany of Desire...anything by Poul Anderson, Clive Barker, A.A. Attanasio, Tad Williams, Ann Cameron, Steven Buhner, Thomas Moore...books on...art and design, energy medicine, herblore, international and traditional cooking and fermenting, traditional crafts, gardening, runes, magic, mythology, folklore, transformational psychology, visionary businesses, graphic design, history of body ornament, historical fiction, erotica, graphic novels, children's books, popup books.

Heroes:

I do not much care for hero worship, as I feel that most brave deeds go unsung, and most people who I admire are just doing what their heart commands, and often have no choice but to be what they are. But here are people that I hold in high esteem: Frida Kahlo, Anais Nin, William Morris, Alphonse Mucha, Karl Blossfeldt, Rumi, Isadora Duncan, Boadicea, Emma Goldman, Juliette Levy, Martin Luther King, Crazyhorse, oh, and Laibach's drummer girls, if you've seen them in action you know what I mean.
