I am W.S. Holland. I started in the music business in 1954 with Carl Perkins. In 1960, I joined the Johnny Cash Band. That's when it became the Tennessee Three. I was with Johnny Cash unitl he retired due to ill health in 1997. I am the only drummer Johnny Cash ever had. During those years we played for four Presidents, the Queen of England, the First Country act to go into Carnegie Hall. I was the drummer on the Million Dollar Quartet with: Johnny, Elvis, Carl Perkins, and Jerry Lee Lewis. I am still a Tennessee Three and will always be a Tennessee Three. For the last two years I have traveled with Bob Wootton as a Tennessee Three. To my regret the Partnership between Bob Wootton and myself has been terminated. It has been said that I have retired from the music business and am no longer a member of the Tennessee Three, this is not true! Look for me in your town soon, Keeping the Sound Alive that I hepled create!
