NYC Bass Brunch

Better Living Through Low Frequencies

About Me

------------------------------------------------------------ ---------------------------------- Hello Bass Players, and welcome to the official MySpace page dedicated to the “NYC Bass Brunch”. “The NYC Bass Brunch” is organized by NYC veteran bassist Mike Visceglia (bassist and musical director for Suzanne Vega). The bass hang occurs once a month or so at The Rodeo Bar, a music venue and restaurant located in Gramercy, NYC. The large group of players consist of New York City’s finest bass players, including professional bassists of all ages and all genres of music.
This MySpace page is geared towards strengthening the bass community within NYC. It is also designed to inform the “Bass World” of exactly what it’s like to be a professional bassist here in New York. There will be interviews & blogs posted by some of your favorite bassists, including NYC’s top session bassists, sidemen, soloists, bass instructors and bass builders. . .
For more information on the “NYC Bass Brunch”, check out www.BassPlayer.tv for video of a recent brunch moderated by Chris Jisi of Bass Player Magazine and bassist Mike Visceglia. BP interviews include bassists, Will Lee , Mike Visceglia , Brian Killeen , Mike Merritt , George Farmer , Frank Gravis, Tony Conniff , Leo Traversa , Patrick Pfeiffer , Paul Nowinsky and bass luthier, Jimmy Coppolo of Alleva & Coppolo guitars & basses .
My name is John Carey , and I am also a bassist here in "The Big Apple", the city that never sleeps and the town that so many musicians come to from around the world to pursue their musical endeavors. . . I’m very excited and honored to have been asked to organize and maintain this MySpace page; I’ll be posting these interviews and blogs from many of my bass friends and colleagues, some of today’s greatest talent from within the bass world, all located right here in NYC.
Please visit us regularly, leave comments, email us with ideas and questions, and add us as a “Top Friend” to your MySpace page. . .
