Welcome to My Space
I am proud to announce the forthcoming independent release of "Not this time", my debut album. Performing with me are:
Jason Brown - Drums
Victor Lewis - Drums
Doug Yowell - Drums
Seamus Blake - Saxophone
Vitaly Golovnev - Trumpet
Dave Kikoski - Piano, Synthesizer
Eric Lewis - Piano, Rhodes
I have the pleasure of presenting four of my compositions alongside Victor Lewis' "7th Ave." and Vitaly Golovnev's "Miki's Trick"
Developed over the last year with my good friend Jason Brown, this project is an exposition of 'rhythmic harmony', a concept that pursues the unification of distinct metric modes. Using two (and sometimes three) drummers simultaneously, the music explores the many dimensions of time in multi-metric grooves. While structurally the music can be quite complex and thoughtful, it's aim is to groove hard and feel good.
The tracks included here are mixed, unedited audio from our session at Avatar Studios on 7/21/07 as engineered by Tristan Leral.
Enjoy!
