Julie Mains is an Owner and Artistic Director of Mainstage Comedy and Music Club, a subsidiary of Idle Hands Productions, LLC and Mainstage Records, LLC.
Born to a Philadelphia show-biz family, Julie began this journey at the age of three months, appearing in a play where her father was one of the actors, and subsequently spent the majority of her childhood and adolescence performing in musicals. In the Philadelphia area and in New York, Julie appeared in many shows such as, "Sweeney Todd", "Barnum", "The Music Man", "Oliver!', and "Godspell" among others. Additionally Julie was fortunate enough to sing in such prestigious venues as the Academy of Music in Philadelphia and New York's Rockefeller Center. In 1989, Julie moved to the Seattle area and continued performing in local productions of such musicals as "Brigadoon", "Man of La Mancha", "The Fantastiks", "Peter Pan", and "West Side Story".
Julie describes her originals as IndieRetroRockAlternative. Raised on musical theatre, oldies, 80s, jazz, heavy metal, and finally Seattle grunge - her originals tend to conjure several different genres at once.
Julie fronts two of the Seattle area's most formidable dance bands: the Tropics (www.geocities.com/thetropicsmusic/) and the ElektraLights. Julie also sings back-up for the Bob Rivers Show House band, Spike and the Impalers (www.bobrivers.com). Over the past 18 years, you may have heard her perform at the Edmonds Arts Festival, Celebrate Shoreline or singing the national anthem at a Seattle Mariners game.
In addition to "Inevitable", Julie has been busy laying the backing vocals on the new album for the Jimmie Van Zant Band (www.jimmievanzant.com) and completed backing vocals on Eddy Ferguson's debut CD entitled "Changes" including a lead vocal on his award-winning track "Ritual". Additionally, Julie has co-written songs with Dave Chick over at Hatched Productions (www.hatchedproductions.net).
Julie has been happily married for nearly fourteen years and has two beautiful and brilliant children. When she isn't working as a musician, Julie prefers to spend her time with friends and family.
