Girl Power Hour

Where Social Circles Collide

About Me

Girl Power Hour.
Girl Power Hour is a chic monthly social networking experience for young professional women in Seattle. We provide an inviting environment conducive to meeting other cool women, sharing ideas, inspiring each other and connecting on a personal or business level, over cocktails. Our goal is to get like-minded women together in a stylish and comfortable environment that facilitates relationship building in a non-threatening way, allowing socializing and networking to occur naturally.
How it Works.
Girl Power Hour is a reoccurring "experience" that happens the 3rd Thursday of every month. At each event we offer swag bags, door prizes, cocktail specials, a charity tie-in and up to two 5 minute presentations or interactive demonstrations from two of our highlighted Girl Power Hour supporters. We currently charge $10 at the door.
Girl Power Hour Stats.
After three successful events and only word of mouth marketing, we've set the bar for women's social networking in Seattle. We have nearly 800 women opting-in to our database and a demand to take our events to other cities. We average anywhere from 70-120 women at each event, making this a rare occasion in Seattle.
The Girl Power Hour Story.
After meeting at a run-of-the-mill networking event, Darnell & Sam quickly forged a friendship and began toying with the idea of starting their own networking group for several months before realizing what a wealth of information they were sitting on. Coming from two separate social circles (media & the green industry), they each knew tons of creative, savvy, business-minded women. That's when it hit them, "what would happen if they all got together?" And with that, Girl Power Hour was born.
Tired of fluorescent lighting, no music and ultra-structured networking events that included 30-second commercials and clapping (not that there's anything wrong with that), they realized there had to be a more engaging and quite frankly, a groovier way to meet women.
Girl Power Hour on a Mission.
We are seeking to change the social norms of run-of-the-mill women's networking groups, by creating a whole new networking experience that incorporates and considers lighting, music, atmosphere, design and details. We hold our events at stylish lounges, bars, hotels foyers, galleries and other relevant locations. Our events become a forum where women can convene, connect and co-mingle in a casual and loosely structured, yet stylish environment, allowing women to do what they do best: socialize, network, empathize and connect!

"I am a jewelry designer, and I absolutely loved your last event. That is the first one that I have attended, however, I am going to spread the word amongst my friends. It was very sophisticated, fun and easy going. All the women were really open minded and down to earth. You and Darnell created a great atmosphere. Thanks for creating a fun and interesting way to meet new people!
-Rachel, Jewelry Designer
"At my first time attending Girl Power Hour in January and I felt more encouraged, connected, and comfortable than at any other networking event I had ever been to. I was instantly greeting by the organizers, Darnell and Samantha, and they introduced me to two other women business owners, whom I now cross-refer clients with. Thank you, GPH for providing the channel of success that enables us to do so!"
