BRB is a talented and witty emcee who is quick on his feet. He is a superb free-stylist who brings a unique spontaneity to recordings, performances and battles. Currently working towards the release of his debut full length album, he brings challenging and inspirational lyrics delivered with a smooth flow. He brings a variety of sounds and styles, ranging from emotive and heart-felt songs like ‘Hard Times’ through to fun, upbeat tracks like ’Who’s Fresh’ and ‘Freestyle Bust’.
Having lived a full and varied life BRB has plenty of stories to share, from drug-dealing and jail time, a near miss with death, and most recently, a battle with cancer. With everyday experiences incorporated into his songs, he’ll have you hanging on his every word.
Originally from the US with strong Colombian heritage, he will often shock the crowd by incorporating Spanish into his freestyles. Now based in Australia, BRB combines an east coast flow with a west coast flair and a strong Aussie hip hop influence. Cleverly written lyrics coupled with powerful freestyle result in his entertaining and moving songs and live performances. He adds life to any cypha.
Philosophical in approach to his music, BRB uses hip hop to inspire, encourage and uplift his listeners. With original beats and cuts BRB brings a powerful duo of rhythm and rhyme together into one.
BRB worked with well-known Aussie hip hop crew Metaphysical Combat for over 3 years, and founded Metaphysical Productions (MP), an independent production company in 2006. He has gleaned significant experience in the Australian hip hop scene and acquired a strong following in the ACT and NSW. As an emcee, composer, DJ, producer and manager, BRB is a fully equipped and versatile artist whose passion drives him above and beyond where your average emcee is prepared to go.
