New Zealand Hip Hop heavyweight DJCXL has been terrorising the 1200’s forthe last decade.
After winning the 2003 NZ DMC finals, the 2003 regional DMC finals, CXL then went on to represent NZ at the DMC World finals in London placing in the top 12. He is also the 2001, 2002 & 2003 ITF regional champ...
DJCXL’s unique ability has provided him with countless opportunities in all facets of entertainment & music. From supporting or providing scratch breaks to New Zealand artist’s Deceptikonz, Aaradhna, Che Fu, King Kapisi, Breakin Wreckwordz, K’Lee and Dam Native to an incredible host of international acts including 50 Cent, Busta Rhymes, Nelly Furtado, Black Eyed Peas, Tha Liks, Ruff Endz, Cypress Hill, RZA, Naughty by Nature, DMX, Beat Junkies, P-Trix, DJ Craze and Destiny’s Child – DJCXL was also offered the opportunity to support Destiny’s Child on the final leg of their world tour. As the only DJ asked to join turntable maestro DJ Q-bert on his New Zealand tour it is evident DJCXL's skills are internationally respected & revered.
As a member of premier New Zealand Hip Hop group 'Ill Semantics' DJCXL has, via the group, advanced another of his skills; music production. With the support of Nate D, DJCXL produced the majority of the tracks on the Ill Semantics latest instalment entitled ‘Good Musik’.
DJCXL’s most recent career milestone has been the penetration of the Japanese music scene. After two successful visits in the last 3 months DJCXL’s potential in Japan is immeasurable.
