About Me

Ok, here goes: My favorite color is purple, my lucky number is 8, and my signature flower is jasmine. My passions are gardening, writing, and cooking. I love dogs, thunderstorms, puzzles and soup...;-PI'm also a strong advocate for environmental protection and public outreach, and have even been called my favorite term of endearment, a "tree hugger". Trying to spread the word about how we can all pitch in to lessen the burden on our growing landfills by actively recycling our disposable material goods. In the same note, we can further help with composting our food wastes and create a valuable soil amendment for our gardens and lawn.I've always been interested in things we can't see or hear but KNOW they are there. I've always felt there are other dimensions at work interwoven into our perceived "reality" and wanted to join like-minded people to find the science that could explain it, or at least give it a shot to try to explain it. That's what prompted me to join a paranormal research and investigation group. The group is The Atlantic Paranormal Society (TAPS) headquartered here in Warwick, RI, and which also has a hit TV show called Ghost Hunters on the SciFi channel. It aires every Wednesday night, so check it out.

My Interests

Cooking rates up there, as I've been quite the baking extraordinairre as of late. Ping pong, skiiing, volleyball, antiquing, hiking, and sleeping are up there too. Played a marathon game of ping pong the other day with a good friend and it reminded me how much I miss playing. I like pool too, except I suck at it. Definately plenty of room for improvement on that one.

I'd like to meet:

Gorden Lightfoot and Greta Garbo. Gorden is still alive, almost 70, and still rocks. Greta's not here anymore, but she was a great actress and a cool broad.

Music:

Just about everything from classic to rock to alternative to blues to country. Not too fond of rap though. JAMES BLUNT (love that guy!!!), Elliot Smith, Grateful Dead, Gorden Lightfoot, Micheal Penn, Enya, Evanescence, Creed, Bob Marley, Neil Young, Nickelback, Third Eye Blind, Indigo Girls, Eminem, James Blunt, Gorillaz, Madonna, Johnny Cash, Kid Rock, Cold Play, Black Eyed Peas, Rascal Flats, James Taylor, Nancy Griffith, Chicago, System of a Down, & so much more...

Movies:

Just saw Lake House with Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock. I saw it on the plane ride out to Colorado the other day. I really liked it alot, interesting concept with time, and a true love story (which I'm always a sucker for). Deeply moving...

Television:

Don't watch that much tv, but when I did, I loved Will & Grace, the Surreal Life, and the cooking channel. I'm currently fascinated by Dog-The Bounty Hunters. So much testosterone going on! And of course, Ghost Hunters!

Books:

Anam Cara by John O'Donohue and Molecules of Emotion by Candace B. Pert, Ph.D. Am trying to finish The DaVinci Code by Dan Brown. Also currently reading What Happens When We Die by Sam Parnia, M.D., Ph.D, The Bachelor Chronicles by Ron Geraci, and also Ghost Populace by Troy Blackford.

Heroes:

Kermit the Frog, Galileo, Pierre Auguste Renoir, Greta Garbo, Gorden Lightfoot, Sarah Orne Jewett, and my grandmother (RIP)

The Curtain Draws (short story)

Clouds tightened in a black sequence above the small, 18th century house, as leaves from autumn's demise tumbled along the broken fence, as swift as a hunter's motion.A hurling wind roared through the...
