Cooking big meals and not having to do the dishes, watching my dog kill sticks in the front yard, watching movies and eating popcorn, dreaming about vacations I want to take, eating after hiking in the woods, reading books... drinking beer after working outside, taking those vacations I've been dreaming about, drinking hot cider or tea or mulled wine when it's really cold out...I would also enjoy having someone else do my laundry. And clean for me. But for free, because I would not enjoy paying for these services. Any takers?
HATE IT!!! After a brief stint with the Sopranos from Netflix, I gave up before I finished the first season. I think it's something about the 'keep the audience' hooked strategy- the way the show never wraps up one thread without introducing sixteen others. After following the season for about six or seven episodes, I find I no longer care.
Non-fiction on subjects that interest me, Grapes of Wrath, most Jane Austen, Sound and the Fury, Harry Potter series, lotsa David Sedaris, Power and the Glory, Lord of the Rings, most Bernard Clavel, Steven Pinker, most Hemingway, Les Grands Chemins, The Namesake, The Giver, lots of short stories by Kipling/O'Henry/Salinger/Jhumpa Lahiri/Flannery O'Connor, most Gabriel Garcia Marquez... I could go on. I'll read most anything once. I also have a serious soft spot for kids' literature, but we don't need to get into that here.
Luke Skywalker and Alexander the Great.
