When he heard Georges Sitar playing for the first time, he was sure that one day he himself would touch this beautiful instrument. That’s a long time ago – but meanwhile his dream became true! The Sitar was found and he was just fiddling around for fun.
It was not the time for him to think about a proper training through teacher – he kept doing fiddling. One day before millennium he joined a concert of Sitar Master PANDIT SHALIL SHANKAR near his place. That day he definitely found his guru and became his disciple later.They travelled together to many places and while playing the tanpura on stage he could feel the depth and insights of classical Indian music – performed by Maestros like his guru and tabla players MOHINDER SINGH or PRITAM SINGH.
As a well-experienced and diverse interested guitar player he likes to grow in another direction additionally – the sitar direction. From his point of view there are many things not tried yet in connection with sitar, sound constructions or effects.
It’s all about fusion; fusion of technique and tradition, fusion of players and listeners, fusion of instrument and performer – fusion of ROQ and SITAR!
