Cleaning up the planet, selling left-wing propaganda on the Ban T-shirts web site, rock and roll, literature.
I'd like to meet:
Any of the neo-cons so I could squeeze their nipples until they promise to stop messing up the planet, some dolphins and whales and wolves (all in their natural habitat), Taime Downe of Faster Pussycat and/or Lemmy for some nutty nites in Hollywood...
People I would like to have met before they died - Oscar Wilde, George Orwell, Jimi Hendrix and Jesus (not because I'm Christian but just to find out what he really meant, and to get to the bottom of that bread and fishes deal).
Music:
Tape The Radio, Faster Pussycat, Interpol, Robin Black, Nine Inch Nails, Hanoi Rocks, Neil Young, 80s bands, Sabbath, 60s girl groups like the Ronettes, most of the stuff that the ACE record label put out, Motorhead.
Movies:
I have watched and enjoyed so many movies it's hard to pick out favourites but some of the ones I've liked over the years include Blade Runner, Hard, Vanishing Point, Run Lola Run, anything by Ken Loach, Leaving Las Vegas, Dog Day Afternoon, Heat, Night of the Living Dead, Hated (film about GG Allin), Happiness, Drugstore Cowboy....
Television:
Extras, Alan Partridge, The Office, Cheers, Blackadder, snooker.
Books:
Some of the books I have read and enjoyed, mostly recently, are Oscar Wilde's "The Portrait of Dorian Gray", Orwell's "1984", "Animal Farm", "Down and Out in Paris and London", Lemmy's autobigraphy "White Line Fever", The Dirt (Motley Crue), anything by Steinbeck, anything by Philip K. Dick, Jay McKinerney (Brightness Falls, Story of My Life, Model Behavior), Oliver James (especially "They Fuck You Up", Bukowski, J.D. Salinger, Ralph Barger's autobiography "Hell's Angel", Bret Easton Ellis, Eric Schlosser, Chuck Klosterman "Fargo Rock City" (the best book about being an 80s metal fan), Christopher V.V. Parnell's autobiography about living in Indonesian prisons for 11 years "Hell's Prisoner", Anthony Swofford's "Jarhead", Lester Bang's "Psychotic Reactions and Carburetor Dung", "Hard Work" by Polly Toynbee.
Heroes:
Anyone who has the guts to stick their head above the sheep and fight for what they believe in. That can be anyone from Nelson Mandela to somebody who says fuck the rat race and does their own thing.
