Vienna
Castle Concerts, October 2008
Recitales "Alessandro Cipriano"
at the imperial Castle Schoenbrunn
Schoenbrunn Palace with its surrounding buildings and the huge park is one of the most significant cultural monuments in Austria. The castle was build to rival French Versailles in Baroque beauty and importance but House Habsburg lacked funds to outdo its rivalling nation France.
In earlier times it served as summer residence to various Habsburg rulers.
Emperor Franz Joseph (ruled 1848-1916), who was born here in 1830, spent the last years of his life entirely in Schoenbrunn. In 1918, the palace became the property of the new republic. Due to this historical importance, its beautiful location and its gardens this palace is one of the very top sights in Vienna. Furthermore the entire complex was added to the UNESCO's world cultural heritage list.
Alessandro Cipriano presents his new program "Visione" Baroque of the 21st Century.. check all the dates above! more dates will be added shortly (Vienna, Berlin, Rome, London.)

Curriculum Vitae
Of Italian extraction, the lyrical tenor Alessandro grew up in Switzerland. He began his studies under the aegis of opera and concert singer Werner Ernst in Zurich.
In 1995, as an advanced singer, he was accepted for tuition with Ruthilde Boesch in Vienna, the chamber music singer also known for assisting
Edita Gruberova
to fame. In 1997, Alessandro auditioned with Alexander Pereira, the Director of Zurich Opera House, and, as a result, was awarded a scholarship by the Armin-Weltner-Stiftung for instruction in Vienna.
With his great charm and stage presence, He knows how to captivate an audience. As a freelance singer, he has been able to establish himself in the fields of both classical music and crossover.
Thanks to his flexibility and openness towards to all kinds of musical styles, he has been able to build a truly wide repertoire. Whether baroque, classical or crossover, Alessandro subjects each and every item to intensive study before performing it on stage. Not surprisingly, thanks to his Italian roots, he specialises in
bel canto . But his preferences also extend to the world of
Lieder as well as Neapolitan
Canzoni ,
Tango Argentino and Viennese song.
In autumn 2002, accompanied by musicians from the Zurich Chamber Orchestra, he recorded a CD featuring the rarely performed songs of Charlie Chaplain. The CD was then premiered at a concert with Patricia Kaas.
In summer 2003, Alessandro fulfilled a lifetime dream and set up an ensemble for his own interpretation of music pitched "between heaven and earth". With a wide-ranging repertoire from opera, operetta, crossover, musical and the song literature of Spain, he and his ensemble offer their audiences a unique musical journey through time.
The basic line-up is song, guitar and piano but, depending on the occasion, it can be extended to form a chamber sextet.
In November 2003, Cipriano & Ensemble successfully took part in the final of the Petit Prix Walo in Lucerne.
In November 2005, Alessandro brought out his first CD
Amore mio on the Tyrolismusic label. The producer and arranger was Tommy Mustac. Some of the pieces were composed by Nella Martinetti who also wrote
Ne partez pas sans moi, the song with which Celine Dion went on to win the 1988
Eurovision Song Contest for Switzerland. Shortly after publication of the CD, it was voted CD of the Week by Radio DRS, a leading Swiss radio station.
