About Me

It is really difficult to talk about yourself, without being too extreme (in a negative or positive way) all I can say is that I consider myself a very open minded person who enjoys talking about (and exploring) almost everything that life has to offer from cartoons to quantum physics.

Falling or Raising in Love? - Sept 21, 2005
I remember reading this quote "Do not Fall in love, Raise in love" coming from an Indian yogui back when I started learning meditation around 2001. I just thought that it would be a nice topic to talk to in order to put my thoughts as well as some piece of my humanity on my page.
I think I mentioned this quote to many people, but just now it's that I am starting to wonder and actually go a little deep into my self and come up with something writable (which is a pain really, trying to convey your experiences into words always is, due to the limitations embedded into the "perceivable" reality).
Firstly, I think that "Falling" in love has to do with just letting the "gravity" and "inertia" do their work. With that I mean just swallowing into the mainstream idea of the limited "love". A love that you can quantify and say: "I gave this much of love to this person but he/she is gone from my life and I don't have any more love left". An idea that wasn't learnt but acquired from society. When you hear things like "if you're not here I am nothing", "Your love keeps me alive", "You are the only one I can connect to", etc. Many so called "romantic" lines that gets absorved into the subconscious and that little by little affect our embedded capacity to be able to connect to this entire creation.
Secondly, I am by no means pretending to be an enlightened master here. my point is just to open up my mind a little bit and may be accept the posibility that there are healthier approaches (to this thing called love) than what has been given to us without questioning.
For those who don't know I have been meditating for almost 5 years now. and I do personal yearly retreats for 4/5 days to places where I won't be bothered (usually the mountains and includes silence and sometimes fasting). I started doing this out of my "advance course" at the center where I learned how to meditate. Some personal experiences that happened after the third day of silence just made me realize that there is more to humanity than just sleeping, eating, working, and entertaining our senses. I would call it my first "mystical experience" or my first experience of this unity, of this "energy/force" that binds us all together.
So what exactly does "raise" in love actually mean?. I think it means coming from realizing our full potential. Which is the experience that we are the limitless source of peace, contentment, joy and love. Once we open this beautiful gift named "humanity", I think we can come from an attitude of freedom, knowing that there is nothing to lose by giving our love to anybody. How can we lose something that's aboundant and free? When you are able to "raise" in love, when you're able to actually explore your inner core and explore the fundamental relationship (with your self) then we can escape from the drama of "falling" and create relationships based on expansion, freedom, union and self-discovery.
much love and peace.
yours
Wadi.
