Amanda Coluccio has been training as a singer since she was 7 years old.
Her most recent achievement was her significant involvement in the television broadcast of American Idol , Season 6, where she was selected as a Hollywood Finalist and made it to the final round of as one of the top 30 female performers in the United States.
Currently, Amanda is promoting her new pop single, “Fly Awayâ€, that she co-wrote both the music and lyrics. She also continues to write new music and is recording with various producers and song composers.
Amanda’s music is a blend of genres with a Pop/ R&B edge.
Her influences have been in the classical genre and from such artists as
Sublime, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Christina Aguilera, and R. Kelly to name a few.
Prior to achieving American Idol fame, Amanda studied classical vocal performance at the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University .At Mason Gross she was selected to be a part of the prestigious Kirkpatrick Choir and performed at Carnegie Hall several times , and personally sang for the Dalai Lama on his visit to America in 2006.
Amanda has also given operatic performances in England , at Canterbury Cathedral and Westminster Hall. In addition to her formal training, Amanda is a member with, Distinction ,of the Associated Board of Royal School of Music. Amanda is 21 years old and currently lives in New Jersey.
Amanda has appeared as a featured speaker on television talk shows many times including Larry King Live, The Today Show, Greta Van Susteren, John Gibson, CNN News, and The Morning Show. She has also been a guest on numerous radio talk shows, including AM stations WABC and WOR in New York and FM stations Z100 and 94.3 the Point.
Amanda also strongly believes that our lives are defined by what we do for those less fortunate than ourselves, thus, she devotes much of her free time singing for charitable organizations and causes such as: Gathered to Give, Women Fighting Breast Cancer ; Praxis Housing, World AIDS, Homeless shelters ; United Cerebral Palsy, Festival of Trees.
