My name is Kelsey Neville and I am 15 years old. I have a large passion for singing. It all started with Barney songs of course at about the age of three. Then around the age of six years old my music teacher asked my parents if he could give me a few lessons on singing because he said that I had " perfect pitch ". Dr. Byerly, the music teacher, taught me how to breathe right when I sang and thank the lord he did. I was in my first competiton around this age and sang LeAnn Rimes "Blue". With this I won 1st runner up and got the biggest trophy I have ever won. Ever since then I have wanted to be a singer. When I was about 10 years old I tried out for American Juniors in Chicago, IL and got past the first round. I made the cut from 300 people to a group of 30 people. This was the official Jr. American Idol show, produced by the same company, 19 Entertainment. After that I started singing at County Fairs and other talent shows. I've won some prizes over time, but towards the middle of the 8th grade things started picking up. I was asked to start singing the national anthem at school events such as wrestling meets and basketball games. At the end of that year I got to sing at my 8th grade graduation. Then that summer began and I started the Michigan PopStar Contest. I won Peoples Choice Award which I would have to thank all my friends and family for. I also won Glitz Idol , where I raised over $200 dollars for the Children's Luekemia Foundation. Then fall came and competitions slowed down and I started up school again. I sang at a few girls basketball games and then as winter approached I started singing at wrestling meets and boys basketball games again. I also sang the national anthem at the State Wrestling Meet at the Palace of Auburn Hills last year (2007) - where the Detroit Pistons play at! I was given the honor of singing at the Genesee County Bring your child to work day luncheon for the second year in a row. So far, the largest crowd I have sung for was over 5,000 fans at the Great Lakes Loons baseball game (twice!) in Midland, MI. I absolutely love to perform and can't describe how much I want to make my very own music. We visited Nashville, Tennesee last year and we went to the Grand Ole Opry and had a tour through the Ryman Auditorium. WOW! This got me more excited about the music business! So far, 2008 has been GREAT with the national anthem at school events and first place at the WWCK 98FM Frankenmuth Snowfest Karaoke Contest - Then a quick trip to Nashville for Americas Got Talent auditions...Everytime I sing in front of new people I would say that I am just that much closer to my goal, my dream. I just want people to enjoy my music and this gift I have been given. I feel lucky to be able to sing to them!!
