Iakov Kremenskiy

Iakov Kremenskiy was born in Arkhangelsk, Russia. At 3 years old he was already enjoying music ranging from MC Hammer to Pink Floyd, however his musical endeavor began when he was 13 on the piano. After a year and seeing a video of Deep Purple live at the California Jam in front of 300,000 people, he immediately switched to guitar and began learning Beatles tunes. At 16 years old, he knew music was his future. He got accepted into Berklee College of Music immediately after graduating from high school in 2004 and has graduated magna cum laude in December 2007.During his time at Berklee he has played music ranging from country to metal to jazz to neo-soul. He is known to add a ballsy musical and stylistic flavor to whatever music he is playing but not overplaying and remaining within the stylistic necessities. He has toured and performed in Russia, the Netherlands, Czech Republic and the USA and performed with Marcus Miller, David Sanchez, Jan Akkerman, Hans van Oosterhout (Toots Thielemans, Dee Dee Bridgewater) and Gary Grainger (John Scofield) to name a few.Some of his main influences are Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, Scott Henderson, Me’shell Ndegeocello and Jamiroquai.
