My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Wait can this include those who have already passed on, or just those living? Well...I will just stick to those living... I have met quite a few people, some famous others not so much. you know... I would like to meet just about anyone...hmmm...by the way, what is a meeting technically, nowadays? Is it a quick handshake? A high-five? An instant message? An email? Accidentally bumping-into a stranger? Maybe its just the eye contact and the head nod...or perhaps its sitting and discussing life over coffee/tea/marijuana?. However you meet someone I think as a society we have become very desensitized to the negligent disrespectful ways we act towards others when we first encounter one-another. I wish meetings could be more meaningful, too many people today write-off interactions with others as coincidence or ironic interactions. But, I think meetings are way more than that. Can you imagine the chances of running into any specific person, on any specific date, in any specific location? The numbers are probably as astronomical as the chances of winning the lotto. I beleive that our very exsistence is almost entirely made up of interactions and relationships with others. And since meeting someone really isnt up to me, I will let the Man upstairs orchrestrate all of my meetings for the rest of my life.

Television:

.. ..
When I think about TV I think about the sensationalist channels that desensitize you to reality. Some have life altering, paradigm shifting experiances, by viewing tv shows. I think there needs to be more positivity in media not just tv, but all forms of communication. TV is on our phones now, we can watch TV in our cars, Media feeds us what we want and our wants in a way were created by watching what others posess on tv. Corporations R&D and marketing know what we want, so we become predictable consumers, confined to graphs and statistics, people become enslaved by the root problems often caused by what their senses recognize. We become a demographic, a target market that others plot on, with methods to sale various things to different types of human beings....

Books:

First and foremost the Holy Word of God, The Bible,
I like historical publications, as well as current events, Books about the universe and life as we know it,Books on Natural Disasters,Tornados,Hurricanes,Tsunamis,Earthquakes, etc. The Dictionary, Seeds of Greatness, Books on Geology, Golf Books,The Search for the Perfect Swing, The Chronicles of Narnia, The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, Sports Bloopers and Facts, Guiness Book of World Records, To be continued...

Heroes:

Anyone who in the face of adversity and persecution stands up for what they believe in. Heroism is conspicuous courage or bravery. Chivelry is a form of heroism. Its carrying yourself with valor and nobility of spirit and character.
Its hard to pinpoint one hero, there are many who have affected my life in a positive way, But I can do fictional heroes...Spiderman, Wolverine, etc...
Quotes

"In the name of the best within you, do not sacrifice this world to those who are its worst. In the name of the values that keep you alive, do not let your vision of man be distorted by the ugly, the cowardly, the mindless in those who have never achieved his title. Do not lose your knowledge that man's proper estate is an upright posture, an intransigent mind and a step that travels unlimited roads. Do not let your fire go out, spark by irreplaceable spark, in the hopeless swamps of the approximate, the not-quite, the not-yet, the not-at-all. Do not let the hero in your soul perish, in lonely frustration for the life you deserved, but have never been able to reach. Check your road and the nature of your battle. The world you desired can be won, it exists, it is real, it is possible, it's yours"-Ayn Rand
"A hero is an ordinary individual who finds the strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles."-Christopher Reeve
"A hero is someone who understands the responsibility that comes with his freedom."-Bob Dylan
"The youth, intoxicated with his admiration of a hero, fails to see, that it is only a projection of his own soul, which he admires"-Ralph Waldo Emerson
"Success and failure. We think of them as opposites, but they're really not. They're companions - the hero and the sidekick."-Laurence Shames
"One cannot always be a hero, but one can always be a human."-Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
"It doesn't take a hero to order men into battle. It takes a hero to be one of those men who goes into battle."-Norman Schwarzkopf
"Life moves on, whether we act as cowards or heroes. Life has no other discipline to impose, if we would but realize it, than to accept life unquestioningly. Everything we shut our eyes to, everything we run away from, everything we deny, denigrate or despise, serves to defeat us in the end. What seems nasty, painful, evil, can become a source of beauty, joy, and strength, if faced with an open mind. Every moment is a golden one for him who has the vision to recognize it as such."-Henry Miller
"That's what it takes to be a hero, a little gem of innocence inside you that makes you want to believe that there still exists a right and wrong, that decency will somehow triumph in the end."-Lise Hand
"We have every right to dream heroic dreams. Those who say that we're in a time when there are no heroes, they just don't know where to look." (January 20, 1981)-Ronald Reagan
" Myths and legends die hard in America. We love them for the extra dimension they provide, the illusion of near-infinite possibility to erase the narrow confines of most men's reality. Weird heroes and mould-breaking champions exist as living proof to those who need it that the tyranny of ''the rat race'' is not yet final."-Hunter S. Thompson
"All of childhood's unanswered questions must finally be passed back to the town and answered there. Heroes and bogey men, values and dislikes, are first encountered and labeled in that early environment. In later years they change faces, places and maybe races, tactics, intensities and goals, but beneath those penetrable masks they wear forever the stocking-capped faces of childhood."-Maya Angelou
" TRUE HERO= the One who lived and died, arose then ascended."-Manchild
