We are Hell's Kittens, an all-girl car club.
We are NOT "rockabilly" girls. We are NOT fashionistas. We are NOT 'scenesters'.
We ARE a car club for women who are seriously into old cars because we love them, not because it gets us guys - or girls as the case may be. ;) (although it sure doesn't hurt).
We are not about the image, not about how "cute" we look with our cars - although we all DO look VERY cute with our cars - we are about girls doing it for themselves. Girls who actually wrench on our rides.
We are girls who get greasy and love it!
We are a club that is about pooling our resources, our knowledge and our labor to help other members out if and when they need it.
We are also a club about getting together for car shows, and car events. to have some good, old-fashioned fun! And representing the "softer" (*snicker*) sex in the car culture world!
The main requirements to join our club are:
have a pre-'72 American-made car (yes, that includes muscle cars) that YOU work on. Doesn't even necessarily need to be a driver right this minute, if you have a project car that you're working on that isn't quite road-ready, that's okay. Again, it's about seriously being into cars, not image.
be willing and ready to wrench on your own car! Even if you're just a beginner, don't know a thing - if you're into getting greasy and learning how to fix your own ride, you're our kind of girl. If you're an old hand, already know how to build, repair, fabricate, weld, etc., you're REALLY our kind of girl (we need more of those!)
you must live in the Southern California area. We have members from all around the area, from the Valley to Long Beach to the Inland Empire, but it would work best if you were from somewhere not too far away as we have rotating-area, pot-luck type get-togethers every month or two, as well as getting together for as many of the major SoCal car shows and events as possible.
you must be 18 years old or older.
and you must be approved by a majority of the Kittens in a club vote.
