About Me

Brian Bridenthal Bio
Born Naperville Illinois, Brian started in music at the age of 7 learning and playing classical music as French horn player. Brian studied under one ot the top French horn players in Chicago Symphony Orchestra from the age of 8 to 15. In addition to playing classical music, Brian’s interest in music was expanded into the world of Jazz as bassist in jazz bands throughout his school years and made two records as a French horn player and jazz bassist before the age of 16.
Former projects bassist Brian Bridenthal has been involved in include founding member/bassist & vocalist for the Allman Brothers tribute Elizabeth Reed, as well as the Chicago blues lineup of Big Daddy & The Redliners out of Brookfield Illinois. Brian also played and founded Jimi Hendrix tribute "Crosstown Traffic", as well as a great Stevie Ray Vaughan tribute "In Step".
Brian’s musical influences cover a wide range of almost the entire musical spectrum including greats such as Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash, Tom T Hall, Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, The Allman Brothers, Frank Sinatra, Sade, Jon Luc Ponty and many others, all contributing to the skills Brian brings to the table as a well rounded versatile bassist that can play pretty much any style of music.
After a short audition to replace their current bassist, Brian made his first contact with brilliant guitar talent Jeff Zak. Brian continued to learn the ropes with the highly motivated and searing Stevie Ray Vaughan tribute Jeff Zak & The Cold Shot Band playing Chicagoland clubs and college venue’s for 8 years including opening slots for “The Bodean’s, Lonny Brooks, Cake and many other national acts.
Brian’s other current projects include playing in Clique Recording Studio’s as a session bassist on multiple new artist project recordings for friend and award winning songwriter & producer Kevin Chalfant. Brian’s debut as a session bassist put him on a CD with the 15 year old harmonica phenom Haley Crouch & The Comet Blues Band available on clique records. Brian is also featured on a new Christian Rock CD release by the all star lineup “Liberty & Justice” including Kevin Chalfant, (The Storm, Alan Parsons Project) Jack Russell (Great White), John Corabi (Ratt), Kelly Keagey (Night Ranger),Tony Carey (Rainbow) & many others. Brian played on the Liberty & Justice track “My Sacrifice” on Liberty & Justice’s release of Independence Day 2007 on L&J Records, you can visit their myspace site for the CD. It was a privilage to play for a lineup of all those great talents of musicians and songwriters. Big thank you to my manager Kevin Chalfant and Clique Records for opening those big doors.
Brian has spent over 20 years playing Chicago clubs rounding out many talented lineups as a solid bassist with McCartney/Jack Bruce style bass playing, great vocal's as well as occasional rhythm/lead guitar work.
I have spent hundreds of hours learning country bass form fella's like Joe Allen, Johnny Cash Bassist. I can play anything from Hank Williams to Chris LeDoux, Alabama, Charlie Daniels, Tom T Hall, you name it.

Sounds Like: Brian Bridenthal music sounds like country, rock & blues.

My true roots lie in Country music and I can play all types of country music, old classics right up to just about anything new, I love country and when I'm done rehearsing the blues, it's on to Tom T Hall, or Johnny Cash, Alabama, Etc!

Some of my latest projects are learning Ralphe Armstrong upright bass parts from the great Jon Luc Ponty CD's that he played on. It's a long way from Waylon, but that's what I do.
I can be contacted via my mail regarding any bookings for any of my bands or if you need a bassist for session work I have hundreds of hours in studio session experience. I also write and co-write material for other artists. Watch for my new country lineup and Cd coming in fall of 2008
