About Me

I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V3.6 !

i'm a gregarious dancing queen who writes poetry, enjoys traveling abroad and seeks to find new treasures at home.

My Interests

fun bars where bartenders serve up fantastic cocktails and aren't afraid to share their own private mix; clubs where the dj spins to his/her heart's content, lifting my spirit higher and higher; visiting museums on a rainy afternoon, walking the city and finding new surprises. I have my quiet moments where i enjoy a relaxed evening at home watching movies or cooking up a storm with friends.

I'd like to meet:

Love revolutionaries, rebels, dancing feens, poets, artists, muses, master chefs.Who I'd like to date - All of the above and an uninhibited sexual being who can be vulnerable; an intellectual man who can navigate the streets, enjoy art museums, be cool with occasional "bougie-ness;" and learn to kiss the small of my back just right that i succumb to his whims.

Music:

Favorite on-line radio shows are Garth Trinidad's Chocolate City, Raul Campos's Nocturna, and Jason Bentley's Metropolis. I cannot give up KCRW. At the moment, my favorite cds are Oliver Peoples, Nickodemus, Madonna's Confessions on the Dancefloor, Shakira (Oral Fixation V1 & 2), and mix cds that friends make for me.

Movies:

Indie, Campy films, my netflix list... You must go see La Mujer de mi Hermano (My Brother's Wife). It's a sexy film that addresses contemporary themes. If anything to see the hot Manolo Cardona get involved in a strange love triangle.Other favorites: Cinema Paradiso, The Outsiders, Il Postino, Pulp Fiction, In the Mood for Love, Casablanca, Love Jones, any movie with Javier Bardem, Almodovar flicks because of their high drama and campiness; Frida (both versions with Selma Hayak and Ofelia Medina); Mad Hot Ballroom, a documentary about 5th graders required to take a 10-week ballroom dancing course. If only we all took those classes when we were that age....

Television:

I must admit I enjoy watching my fair share of t.v. At the moment, my favorite shows are Lost, House MD, Scrubs, Alias, CSI (OG version on Thursday nights). When I can watch cable tv --- Sex & the City reruns, and Living Single reruns --- my fair share of Food Network shows. Don't you just love Giada and Rachel

Books:

Favorite Poets & Storytellers: The NeoSpinsters --- Pat Payne, Dora McQuaid --- The Wild Women of Cambria, Maria Elena Wakamatsu, Carmen Vega, Imani Tolliver, Evie Shockley, Sonia Sanchez, Alicia Vogl Saenz, Aida Salazar, Tomas Riley, Willie Perdomo, Joy Harjo, Linda Gamboa,Yael Flusberg, Sesshu Foster, Consuelo Flores, Holly Bass, Bamuthi, Chris Abani ....Writers who continue to teach me and keep me in awe Helena Maria Viramontes, Suzan Lori Parks, Rosario Castellanos, Elena Poniatowski, Toni Morrison....Can you recommend any good books?

Heroes:

The matriarchs in my family, Coyolxauqui - Aztec Moon goddess; Sor Juana Ines de la Cruz; and Sandra Cisneros for writing "You Bring Out the Mexican in Me;" Tina Modotti
