I just move forward. Lately i have been floating through life at a rapid pace....no need to slow down...not yet.About me?...Well, I am a product of the border, both literally and in the imaginary. I am in all senses a 'border child'. I was born in San Diego but grew up in Mexico. Returned to the U.S. in my teens only to continue my transnational existence. I really appreciate that, since it shaped my identity in ways that only the nexus and 'el norte' and California could. So no matter where I found myself, living in Greece, Mexico, and U.S. or in my travels around the world, I found myself understanding my life and purpose through my own 'ontology'. There are many people who have influenced that 'ontology'. My abuelita being one of them, who was herself a 'transnational migrant€™; she worked cannery factories in Northern California, Ranchos in Mexico and settled in the border, literally€San Ysidro. She did all this while having an understanding that this life is what you make of it, and for her dancing, cooking and loving family was her purpose in life. Since my childhood, she told me that I could do whatever I wanted because she was part of the movement that paved the roads for people like me. I find myself at a crossroads in life. No matter what road I decide to take, I know it will be the one that is meant for me. I also have a lot of people in my life, both new and old that are good to me. I learn something new everyday from them. I make mistakes, but they assure me that I am allowed to make them; I just file them in the 'life experience' file. I like that!
