Marco Paolucci was born in Rome in 1978. He began to study guitar at the age of eleven. From ages fourteen to seventeen, he studied and played especially rock and funk. At eighteen he discovered and became very keen on jazz.
In 2000 he entered the Percentomusica Music School, graduating five years after. In these years he studied with such guitar players as Fabio Zeppetella, Umberto Fiorentino, Stefano Micarelli, Nico Stufano, Maurizio Lazzaro and Massimiliano Rosati. He attended improvisation courses with Massimo Fedeli, Micheal Audisso, Fabrizio Cardosa and Ramberto Ciammarughi.
In 2007 he spent a period in New York where he played in some jazz clubs and studied with Adam Rogers and Gilad Hekselman.
He has performed around Rome and Italy with the ‘Solar Jazz Quartet’. Today, Marco lives in Rome where he is performing with his duo (Marco Paolucci-Livio Pochetti Duo). He also collaborates with some theatrical companies taking part as guitarist in various shows.
Since 2005 he has been teaching guitar in ‘Accademia Romana di Musica’.
