digital syn, an idea, a thought, what if there were no restrictions, what if there was no set type of music, no boundaries? enter chaos. a place without boundaries, whatever comes may come, whether it be metal, industrial, alternative, rap, german, oriental, classical, or sometimes all of it in between.
a way to express the expressionless, to think the thoughtless and let loose the emotions and chaos inside of one’s head. digital syn started in the late 90s as merely an idea, and over the course of the past 7 years or so has evolved into a mass of unrestrained chaos.
it all started with an album called silent screams of desperation, recorded very poorly, yet giving an insight into the recording process. unfortunately do to the way in which it was recorded, and not having the means to back it up, this album is no longer available, to the pleasure of it’s creator but the chagrin of others.
next a project was started called shadowed reality: the dream within a dream, but was later scrapped do to changing ideas, and not liking the way it was turning out. the majority of those songs would make up the main portion of view the past from a window, with some demos from the era of nomed’s revenge(digital syn’s original name, demon spelled backwards, but no one got it).
soon to follow, the first delving in the realm of purely instrumental, living on the edge of reality. a score of the chaos inside of one’s head, from happiness to sadness, to complete and total lack of explanation. this was created to pass the time between what was originally to be shadowed reality, and what is now known as shattered.
in early 2001, started working on shattered, and went through lots of changes. many songs were started(over 30), but only view were finished, and only 15 made it to the final cut. in between working and tweaking songs and vocals, shattered didn’t come out till about 4 years after it was started. and then delayed yet again when in 2005 someone died. the song saying goodbye(moments of mourning) was composed, and vocals recorded, in the span of about 4 hours. the last song to be added to the track listing. songs on shattered range from metal/industrial to acoustic to techno and some mixtures of things in between.
2 projects are currently in the works, an instrumental album, entitled crimson afterlife: score of the undead, and another album entitled april death songs. crimson afterlife will be the first album to have a collaboration song on it(however not the first collaboration that has been done) with the song drowning emotionless, featuring sickmessiah. piano was recorded and effected by jonathon, and sick added the background effects and some other edits to it. also, april death songs is currently in a state of having tracks finalized and either cut or having a couple more added. the covers to both albums are currently in the photo section of this page. both are created by jonathon.
at the moment, digital syn is only jonathon, therefore, as much as it might not bode well with some, any offers for concerts will have to be turned down. someday in the future, that might change, but for the time being, it’s the chaos of one.
if you have any questions, feel free to send a message, and it will be answered as soon as possible.
