"The Words Are Not The World" Video
CAMBIAN DAWN formed in late 2002, originally consisting of guitarist Sam Carter, Matt Kenway on vocals and bass, and Tom Barker on drums. The band fast outgrew the St Vitus/Sabbath/Kyuss mould that characterised the Dawn's early sound, and founder member Sam opted to leave early in 2004. Tom nonchalantly switched over to guitar duties while the mighty Zak Newman (previously with jazz/prog/death combo Execration) stepped in to fill the drum stool. Intense practising behind sweaty closed doors revealed that Cambian Dawn had begun to evolve into something utterly unique as a host of fresh influences came into the mix.
Chris Goodchild (formerly of Mothra) joined the band on guitar duties in June 2006, adding a new depth to the sound. From this point on the band has played a whole host of new material in and around London and recently finished recording a brand-new, five song EP.
No longer simply stoner rock or doom metal (yet still displaying roots traceable to both genres) CAMBIAN DAWN are a maverick beast unafraid of experimentation.
