"I think this pair has huge potential. I'd guess that this is what pure dead brilliant sounds like in the rough." - TunAtheday.com

"Laurence Owen (Guitar/Vocals) and Ryan Michael (Bass Guitar) met at school in London at the age of thirteen. Now, at nineteen, they perform as the duo Carmelite, and have produced four albums over the last five years. Carmelite's sound is an assault not normally associated with the acoustic world, and the duo has been known to violently shake up acoustic clubs with their unique brand of alternative rock. Soaring melodies and catchy rhythms can be expected, often coming from the band's trademark 6-string bass guitar. Inspired mainly by acts such as Nick Cave, The Divine Comedy, Smashing Pumpkins and REM, Carmelite has attracted a lot of attention on the London circuit with charismatic live shows and epic, intelligent songs."
