My own style can best be described as an eclectic mix of jazzy, deep and funky House music with heavy Disco, African, and Latin influences.
A blend of NYC percussion, Chicago Soul, and San Francisco tempo @ 124 BPM.
Born Roman David Alexis Chrucky ( don't ask, parents are Ukranian/Hungarian) in a dark and dirty 7th floor delivery room in the ass-end of Connecticut. I first got hooked on turntabilsm when i moved to NYC when i was a young pup around 1996...when i happened into my friends 2 story flat down in the financial district. Lot of firsts in that pad, NO DOUBT. but a certain Juliette introduced me to the proper technique in rolling a Spliff (half tobacco, half ?? ). A french woman that lived in Briton, she also got me on the 1200's to the first piece of vinyl i've ever owned. Entrouducing by DJ Shadow. He created this revolutionary album using only one turntable and one sampler. Amazing.
Subsequently Kruder & Dorfmeister - DJ Kicks, Talvin Singh, Badmarsh & Shri, Ian Pooley - Nite Life and finally Ron Trent - Giant Step Sessions help inspire and evolve my sound into what it is today.
