About Me

As a teenager, I sorted after his sibling’s extraordinary musical interests and collections. Although at the time, the act of mixing was not my purview, I was very much involved in compiling music on audio tapes. Consequently, I was invited to DJ for friends who admired my incredible musical talent. At the same time, I was quite connected to my neighbors, Fela Kuti's organization. I was instrumental in enticing young elite audience to attend Shrine (the late Fela Kuti's nightclub) in support of classmates - Dele Sosimi and Femi Kuti who were then musician with Fela and the Egypt 80 band. In 1984, I moved from my hometown Lagos, Nigeria to England as a scholar. While in England, I gained a vast knowledge of the London underground club scene. When I moved to the US in 1988, I became extremely close to the work of some legendary DJs and musicians whose music I played as a teenager. This includes DJ icons like Larry Levan, Francois K, Franky Crocker, Shep Pettibone and bands like Blackbyrd, Linda Clifford, Crusaders, Quincy Jones, Roy Ayers, Lenny Williams, Change and Tom Brown to name a few. While getting an academic business education, I continued to closely follow the work of the aforementioned names, among others. Similarly, I maintained a strong presence in the San Francisco and New-York's underground club scene. By 1995, I unwrapped an exceptional knowledge of music and the underground club scene through my very powerful imagination and ideal. I began residencies and guest appearances at clubs and private parties in the San Francisco Bay Area, New York and beyond. As a result of a sharp talent, I was quickly embraced and have been successful in sharing my spiritual gift and insight with friends and colleagues around the globe. To reaffirm a full dedication to the underground dance music, I launched Fatsouls, a super sonic campaign outlet, in September 1999. Fatsouls' monthly installment, Atmosfere, gained a vast and remarkable following in the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond during the years of 1999 - 2005. Atmosfere's presentation of an extraordinary rotation of world class artist created a new nightlife scene in San Francisco that others have since attempted to emulate. Atmosfere won the 2001 San Francisco Bay Guardian's Best of the Bay Award, and Bay Area's CitySearch.com's Editorial Award for the Best Monthly Night Club Event in San Francisco. I have consistently captured the attention of audiences worldwide with my DJ skills, outstanding events and music production. Currently, I have a score of releases on labels like Wave Music, Ibadan Records and Chez Music, NY.
