About Me

GIRLS FOR BREAKFAST (Delacorte/Laurel Leaf) is David's first novel. It's available in paperback and hardcover. GFB is a comic coming-of-age novel starring Nick Park, an ambivalent Korean American teenager obsessed with girls as he grows up in a WASPy town in Connecticut. It features an 80s soundtrack and a new form of martial arts, and if you read it backwards there's all kinds of weird messages hidden in reverse English.
"Girls for Breakfast performs the neat trick of taking the misery of adolescence and transforming it into fiction that is funny, engrossing, and perceptive. David Yoo is a talented writer with lots to say about sex, ethnicity, and whitebread suburbia." - Tom Perrotta (author of Little Children and Election)
"Funny, dark, and subversive. Beware: you'll never be able to look at a guy the same way after you read this book." - Rachel Cohn (author of Gingerbread and Shrimp)
David's second novel, STOP ME IF YOU'VE HEARD THIS ONE BEFORE (Hyperion), will be published in the Fall of 2008.
