We are pleased to announce that Jake has just completed his fantastic new solo acoustic album entitled Written Large.
Jake said:
"There’s something old, new, borrowed and blue in there with all 3 My Life Story albums and both ExileInside long players represented alongside 3 new titles".
"The intention of the record is to strip back the arrangements of many songs I have recorded over the past 15 years . Get the essential spirit of the song out there".
The album will see it’s UK release on Monday 17th March, however it is available to buy exclusively from our online store

Exilophone Records is a wholly autonomous record label conceived in 2002
by British Singer/Songwriter Jake Shillingford, founder of the cult
orchestral alternative band My Life Story.
Everything you see, hear and feel is funded by a small team of private backers:
called the Investor Angels.
The scheme is based on the traditional notion of patronage characteristic of the old
art scenes and music halls.
Over the past 6 years our Angels have made financial contributions in order for Jake
to record, manufacture and release music as well as tour and promote current material.
We have replaced the traditional role of the record company with our fans enabling us
to run our own genuinely independent label Exilophone Records.
The EI mantra is:

Our music comes straight from us to you. We feel that doing it ourselves means that
we can produce work for our listeners, which is undiluted and uncompromised.
We believe in having a close interactive relationship with our supporters.
This interactivity manifests itself in the fact that we invite like-minded people
to bring their talents to the table and contribute to the website and day-to-day
running of the band.
