Dieter Dolezel (1977) is a german composer and guitarist currently based in Munich and Rotterdam, writing acoustic and electronic music, constantly trying to find new solutions in combining both. He studied with Wilfried Hiller in Munich and with Louis Andriessen in The Hague and visited masterclasses with Tristan Murail, Alvin Curran and Richard Ayres, among others.
His music is performed regularly all across Europe, among others by the likes of the King's Singers, the Ensemble Modern and Mike Svoboda. Festival performances include the Gaudeamus Music Week, where he was shortlisted with two pieces in 2007, the MGNM Musikfest and Klangwerktage Hamburg.
Among several grants and prizes he was awarded the Rome Prize in 2007, enabling him to spend a whole year as a fellow at the German Academy
Villa Massimo in Rome.
