About Me

I edited my profile at Freeweblayouts.net , check out these Myspace Layouts!
Barbara has been doing comedy the better side of 2 decades. Her comedic skills are so carefully honed that she leaves audiences in stitches wherever she goes. But comedy hasn't always been her only contribution to society. Carlyle did a short stint in the Marine Corps (cause she was looking for a few good men)and tried her hand at teaching for a short while. Barbara has appeared on Apollo Comedy Hour, Def Jam, Comic View, Comic Xscape, just to name a few. A stickler for detail, she can speed read an audience and know exactly where to take her jokes. Hecklers think twice about testing her skills cause this young lady takes no prisoners and die hard wannabes fall prey to her vicious tongue. Carlyle has performed in Germany, The Netherlands, England, the Virgin Islands (trying to be a born again virgin) and other exotic places. Carlyle has one daughter and several baby daddies. You do the math. Her aim in life is to leave an indelible mark in the world of comedy.

I'd like to meet:

Everyone I want to meet have died so I won't say who else I wish to meet so they won't face an untimely death. I wanted to meet Tupac, Richard Pryor, Robin Harris, Moms Mabley, Ossie Davis. I met Guy Davis but not his father. Even got the good role in Purlie Victorious. I am indebted to several people who tried to jumpstart my career but I fought them nail and tooth thinking love beat fame anyday. Gordon Parks for giving me the one line in your movie. You told me I needed to get off my tail and go where the big dogs were. Tito Puente, those talks in the limo, I'll never forget. Janet Carter, never got the chance to say good bye but I still cherish the memories and the opportunities. Dr. RL Stevenson who always gave me the lead role in the comedies in college. I thought you were being biased now I know you knew what I possessed.

Music:

Any of that why you left me when you coming back music. Some rap, but I love some good mellow music. The artists that get my juices flowing are Peabo Bryson, Charlie Wilson, Prince, Michael Jackson, Joe, Usher (when he letting his emotions flow). No one tops the ladies who look deep inside my soul--Mary J, Natalie, Whitney I'm still rooting 4 ya, Miki Howard, Heather, damn my main girl Bettye Wright who's had my daughter blowing her tunes since she was 4 yrs old. Aaliyah your "I care for u" takes me thru many a lonely night. RIP.

Anything black but I love me some comedies. Can't get enough of Sanaa Lathan. She is super versatile. "Brown Sugar" cause it takes me back to Roosevelt to the one who got away, "Life", just cause damn, just cause. Anything with Chris Tucker, hey you my dog Chris. Tell Dexter his sex symbol thing ain't cutting it. Wearing a wife intimidator. Can't beat nobody. some white movies too--was that racist-- something about Mary, anything with Jim Carrey. the comedy game

After 28 years in the comedy game, I'm wondering where this genre is headed. Our forerunners should be spinning in their graves.  But when you love the game and you remain humble, the reward...
