About Me

"Electrifyingly arousing, sharply perceptive, and all round outstanding material from this fresh new talent", “Hotly tipped singer songwriter ‘October’ at 22 shows a musical depth and maturity beyond her years” (Guitarist Magazine)
October is currently captivating audiences all over the globe with her “well crafted poetry”, “excellent guitar and distinctive vocals”. She’s already played to massive crowds at Manchester’s Bridgewater Hall, Birmingham's Symphony Hall, London's Excel, BBC Radio One, BBC Maida Vale Studios, Acoustic Festival of Britain, the prestigious London Guitar Show and of course Glastonbury Festival. Dubbed by the press as a “Melodic Rock Lady with a big future”, October is set to play Glastonbury Festival for the third time in a row this year.
“Within minutes this talented lady had the audience eating out of her hand…. she somehow has the rare ability to reach inside and touch feelings that are deeply personal and mostly lay dormant….Her lyrics are complimented by guitar playing that most male guitarists would be jealous of. She can rock out one moment and then in the next song play such sensitive fingerstyle guitar that you are drawn into her world of passion and intimacy.” Review on October’s solo acoustic 35 minute set on one of Glastonbury’s outdoor main stages).
October started off her career at a music college in Surrey where she self recorded her first demo, playing all the instruments, including the drums (the first instrument October took to). Less than 24 hours after finishing the EP, October was bombarded with phone calls and was subsequently booked for her first festival, along with appearances on the Musicians TV channel, where she recorded four more of her own songs. October then started work as a Luthier and a ghost writer for Guitarist Magazine around this time. She met and developed close relationships with fellow musicians from the likes of Frank Zappa’s band, Steve Harley’s ‘Cockney Rebel’ and Suzi Quatro’s band. They often played festivals and recorded together. Her playing style and live ability matured and developed greatly during this period, and October went on to perform solo at more of the UK's best festivals. Since then she has played to crowds all over the world, including Cuba, India, France, Italy, Sweden and The Netherlands. October is now based in the South East of England, playing all the popular music haunts including The Borderline, The Bedford, The Clapham Grand, The Spitz, Cobden Club, Halfmoon Putney, and Hackney Empire along with some of this year's most popular festivals. I had a ball this summer when I joined Tim Steiner and the BBC Symphony Orchestra at the BBC's infamous Maida Vale Studios. We even rehearsed in Studio 3! To my delight I was then asked back to sing with the BBC Big Band the following week at Birmingham's Symphony Hall. Wuhoo! It was a totally amazing experience, with a totally amazing band, in a totally amazing venue. There's a couple of pics below...

Check this totally mental clip… My neighbours are trying to get me chucked out my flat for playing guitar and breathing. I’ve nowhere to practise, so I walked up and down the street rehearsing my songs before my gig the other night. This is just a snippet, but look at all the random pedestrians joining in and singing lyrics to a song they don’t even know! I mean, they just could have thrown things at me! XThere’s a bit of a crazed story to this one as well... (see my Swedish Blog)BTW, if anyone’s got anywhere for me to rehearse, then please contact [email protected] !! ?
