About Me

.. ******"Lets not be formal, people in the real world call me Russ. Not Henry or HR, Just plain old Russ, with simple values. My main pet peeve would be Plastic People. You have style, grace and your life is a gift, be honest with yourself and others. ....... "Lets see, well as you can tell by the profile, I am slightly older than dirt and lucky enough to have survived the ignorance of my youth. I have been married to a great lady for 35 years. I or rather we are vegetarians. It's a matter of choice, but at this point in my life I choose not to eat anything that had a face or a pulse. I am a published writer, and poet, not to mention a not half bad pencil Artist. I enjoy doing historical buildings mainly, but any subject will do. I just do it to unwind. Also a truck Driver with all too much time behind the wheel, an average of 3,200 miles every five days. Thats for the past 34 years with various outfits, but put a pencil to it and it will cause you to have extreme lower back pain, ;). Just a few more years should I survive and we will put that part of our life to rest. You can find out some of my other interests here. http://www.geocities.com/azstickartist. Lets see, I was born in what could be known as beyond a small town in northern Minnesota called Hallock. I was a service brat and raised around the globe. The longest we lived anywhere was in Brain Tree, England. England is so rich in history you are over whelmed by it all. Having lived in so many areas around the globe gave me an insight into differing cultures that some will never experience. Did my stint in the Army in the sixties, and vowed I would never intentionally hurt another living thing except in self defense again. I dropped out of college when I decided that the world of suits and ties were not for me. Hell, I got married in a Levi Jacket, t-shirt and jeans, not any sort of statement, just couldn't afford anything else at the time. If I live long enough It is my hope to put a little more in print, you know, footprints, something that says you were here and maybe made a difference somehow. I managed to get my first magazine article published in 1980 and a few more since that time. I have a rich and full life and many hours are spent exploring ghost towns and running the back roads in search of things to sketch and write about, food for the muse is the experience. I work five days a week driving a truck hauling various materials in bulk for mines in Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas. Evenings are spent along side the road or a truck stop doing some sketching or playing around on Ham Radio (not to be confused with CB Radio). I try and spend most evenings in the area of Texas Canyon. There is a presence there that recharges your spirit. I can't explain it, you will have to go there yourself! I have six dogs, 9 cats (not by design) and a turtle that will out live us all! Life is good! I have met some really great people here on my space, just to be connected to a few of my favorite performer?s for me is an honor. Thanks for stopping by. Be well and do good work! Russ... I deleted my old page, and put this one up.I hope some of my old friends will find it, and welcome the new ones. Since 5-6 days a week finds me on the road, and only access this as Wifi connections permit along with my ever faithful Blackberry , please excuse and delays in responding to you, but will as soon as I can. For direct questions ask for the email and I will send it to you.
