See you Wed nights at the Buddha...

About Me

A city girl I am, constantly in motion, wishing there were more than 24 hrs in the day... I am a reckless entrepreneur at heart and love rolling up my sleeves to help a small, promising company get off the ground. What do I do?
Lirix Inc. www.lirix.net
My "day job" is working as a producer, music director, and doing some pr for Lirix Inc. I work with labels and artists to license their music catalogs, and continue developing the AdLirix system that allows advertisers to target ads based on song lyrics and themes. Our company provides patented technology that will soon make ad-supported music a universal model for the music industry. Keep your eyes peeled...Artists/catalog owners visit the website for licensing info.
TRC Events Inc. www.trcevents.com
I am a co-owner in this entertainment company. We produce events and do brand marketing. I am the brand director for New Music Live- see NML section below. Also, be sure to RSVP for Sweet Release: A Return to the Dancehall. Wednesdays at the Buddha Lounge. Call the hotline at 773-294-9371.
Management
Currently manage:
-DJ Lil' John, Mixshow Coordinator for Clear Channel's WGCI.
-TRC Signature Models, a group of professional, ethnically diverse event and print models. If you've seen them you know, they're the best in the city-hands down. Looks and charisma both a 10.
Moving into artist management soon, but still evaluating a few candidates...
New Music Live www.newmusiclive.net
New Music Live is an epicenter for music activity, hosting a myriad of national recording artists, top DJs, record label execs, media, and most importantly a select group of diverse, trendsetting fans. Via live music events at staple venues in Chicago, New Music Live provides an intimate forum for fans and industry participants alike to become familiar with the new music and stories of the Midwest’s top urban recording artists. In an unplugged atmosphere, exclusive live performances are accompanied by infamous band Zzaje. DJ Lil' John provides the feel good music for the party-goers and the TRC Signature Models co-host. Homegrown heavyhitters participating in the events thus far have included One Chance (J Records), Qualo (Universal), Pheave (Universal), Rhymefest (J Records), Mikkey (So-So-Def/Virgin), Joshua of Fatty Koo (Sony), Crucial Conflict, CAP 1, Slum Village, and many, many more. Expect to see the re-launch early '07 with an upgrade.
New Music Live is produced by TRC Events Inc. and The Movement Worldwide. See the video at the link above.
Despite the chaos of work and family, I am a very light-hearted person. I like to laugh, dance, and meet new people that will give me a fresh perspective on life. I have a kind heart, but definitely have some street left over from a previous era. I am very detail-oriented and professional and expect the same from those I choose to work with. Networking is king, so I make may way around. If you're hot in the music industry, expect to bump into me at some point. I always like to hear what other people are working on so drop me a line...

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

People who: love themselves, love other people, listen more than they talk, understand that learning doesn't stop when you finish "school", have learned to leave self-pity behind, aren't scared to take risks, tell the truth when it counts, have a purpose in life greater than just making money (money is just an obstacle in the road not an end goal), live passionately, embrace diversity, and of course I'm always up for meeting people who want to fund my outlandish entrepreneurial ventures. =)

Movies:

I'm old school: Star Wars, especially the originals (I bet I've seen them more times than you!), Indiana Jones, Brave Heart, Coming to America, Boyz in the Hood, and heres my kid side, Neverending Story, Princess Bride, and oh, can't forget the Lord of the Rings. I read the book once when I had some time on my hands (many years ago!) and the movie was a great rendition.

Television:

Only show I watch is Grey's Anatomy and once in a blue moon I'll catch Punked before I go to bed.

Books:

Clan of the Cavebear and Lord of the Rings series were my favorites. I also like reading books about people and society (ie: The Prince by Machiavelli is in my collection.) Honestly I haven't read any books in the last couple years due to time constraints. I've mostly been reading several articles a week on music and media trends as it pertains to my jobs.

Heroes:

Sadly I can't think of anyone off the top of my head. I really wish I had a mentor or a hero. My parents have probably been the best role models I've had. Never lied to me, always supported me, open line of communication, and unlike most couples, are still married after 30 years.
