Infinite Degrees Entertainment is the brainchild of Andrew Ward, founder and CEO. IDE started out as a promotions and special events company when Andrew along with his collaborator Vance Green began throwing parties in the South. While attending Jackson State University Andrew and DJ Vance, as he was known on the Yard, became good friends and decided to start throwing parties of their own after collaborating and promoting events for sororities, fraternities and other djs. The duo successfully held events in Jackson, New Orleans and Atlanta before eventually migrating back home to Chicago. Returning to Chicago in 98 gave birth to the name Infinite Degrees Entertainment which became more than a event company. Andrew took on the responsibilities of managing Vances growing demand as a dj while also managing the rising hip hop collective The Talented Tenth. The Tenth released two albums and countless singles with high critical acclaim and respect from the hip hop community. IDE went on to host some of the best weekly and monthly events at clubs like XL, Wham, Frankie Zs, The Mint which included the first Chicago appearance of Biz Markie as a dj. Vance eventually moved back to Jackson to pursue a graduate degree. The focus for Andrew shifted to live music events and artist management. IDE has hosted live music events that have featured some of the best performers in Chicago as well as nationwide. Properties such as Chocolate featured the first live performance in Chicago of Floetry, Zzaje, Soul People, Dante Hall, Marqseven, Tiaybe, Motep, Malik Yusef and many more. Other properties include the Hybrid Affair, Nu Soul of Chi, Soul Sanctuary which featured producer/writer for Erykah Badu, Carmen Rodgers and NDambi, Geno Young.Currently IDE is re-establishing itself on the event scene with collaborations with Interplanetary Radio(the Dance-Thursdays at Cozmos), FemPress, Inc. (InterTwine-Tuesdays at Cactus) while managing and consulting the IDE family of artists. The roster includes some of the best talent in the city poised to take over the nation and the world.
