Compuphonic & Kolombo
EMOTION EP
Turbo0446
As hard as it might be to believe, there was a time when the word TRANCE did NOT mean Dutch guys dressed in white wearing Oakleys.. it also didn t mean Israeli pre-military dragon-stick wielding reefer addicts.. actually, there was a glorious era where trance was a VERB rather than a NOUN.. im talking about when you GOT in a trance, at lets say for example: the Golden Eagle in Munich in 81, in a white-tiled sauna-motif discotec, grooving to a 17 minute reel-to reel version of Knights in White satin on your 2nd bottle of poppers while some guy named Wolfienext level. If that sounds appealing.. and I know it does.. then allow me to introduce you to Compuphonic and Kolombo.. a throwback to the days of Romance-Trance of the highest order. Deep, sensual (yes, i used the word SENSUAL) electronic grooves so potent that we were forced by a coalition of competitors labels to ONLY release some of them digitally to restrict their awesome power to trip people out. These tracks make other tracks seem like mindless shallow shit. That includes some of Turbos other releases.

I'm not very good at this so i'll defer to the great Hugh Gallagher...
"I am a dynamic figure, often seen scaling walls and crushing ice. I have been known to remodel train stations on my lunch breaks, making them more efficient in the area of heat retention. I translate ethnic slurs for Cuban refugees, I write award-winning operas, I manage time efficiently. Occasionally, I tread water for three days in a row.
I woo women with my sensuous and godlike trombone playing, I can pilot bicycles up severe inclines with unflagging speed, and I cook Thirty-Minute Brownies in twenty minutes. I am an expert in stucco, a veteran in love, and an outlaw in Peru.
Using only a hoe and a large glass of water, I once single-handedly defended a small village in the Amazon Basin from a horde of ferocious army ants. I play bluegrass cello, I was scouted by the Mets. I am the subject of numerous documentaries. When I'm bored, I build large suspension bridges in my yard. I enjoy urban hang gliding. On Wednesdays, after school, I repair electrical appliances free of charge.
I am an abstract artist, a concrete analyst, and a ruthless bookie. Critics worldwide swoon over my original line of corduroy evening wear. I don't perspire. I am a private citizen, yet I receive fan mail. I have been caller number nine and have won the weekend passes. Last summer I toured New Jersey with a traveling centrifugal-force demonstration. I bat .400. My deft floral arrangements have earned me fame in international botany circles. Children trust me.
I can hurl tennis rackets at small moving objects with deadly accuracy. I once read Paradise Lost, Moby-Dick, and David Copperfield in one day and still had time to refurbish an entire dining room that evening. I know the exact location of every food item in the supermarket. I have performed covert operations for the CIA. I sleep once a week; when I do sleep, I sleep in a chair. While on vacation in Canada, I successfully negotiated with a group of terrorists who had seized a small bakery. The laws of physics do not apply to me.
I balance, I weave, I dodge, I frolic, and my bills are all paid. On weekends, to let off steam, I participate in full-contact origami. Years ago I discovered the meaning of life but forgot to write it down. I have made extraordinary four-course meals using only a Mouli and a toaster oven. I breed prizewinning clams. I have won bullfights in San Juan, cliff-diving competitions in Sri Lanka, and spelling bees at the Kremlin. I have played Hamlet, I have performed open-heart surgery, and I have spoken with Elvis.
But I have not yet gone to college."

My Interests

Living on a peninsula on a peninsula, on the west coast of the east coast, south of the south...

Experimenting with a "Protean Unification Theory" that could explain all things (tangible, ideological , logical, etc)
Superstring Theory
Theory of Everything
Grand Unification Theory

I'd like to meet:

Ray Kurzweil, Neal Stephenson, Venetian Snares, Adult., Briana Banks, and many more.

oh yeah and somebody who will buy me one of the new vestax controllers:

"The most thoroughly and relentlessly Damned, banned, excluded, condemned, forbidden, ostracized, ignored, suppressed, repressed, robbed, brutalized and defamed of all Damned things is the individual human being. The social engineers, statisticians, psychologists, sociologists, market researchers, landlords, bureaucrats, captains of industry, bankers, governors, commissars, kings and presidents are perpetually forcing this Damned Thing into carefully prepared blueprints and perpetually irritated that the Damned Thing will not fit into the slot assigned to it. The theologians call it a sinner and tries to reform it. The governor calls it a criminal and tries to punish it. The psychotherapist calls it neurotic and tries to cure it. Still, the Damned Thing will not fit into their slots."

Music:

Anything as long as it's good.

    Television:

"If you can master nonsense as well as you have already learned to master sense, then each will expose the other for what it is: absurdity. From that moment of illumination, a man begins to be free regardless of his surrounding."

    Heroes:

A bottle of bottled water held 30 little turtles. It didn't matter that each turtle had to rattle a metal ladle in order to get a little bit of noodles, a total turtle delicacy. The problem was that there were many turtle battles for less than oodles of noodles.
