About Me

Srimad Bhagavatam 1.1.22: We think that Your Goodness is met by us by the will of providence just to accept you as the captain of the ship which desires to cross the difficult ocean of Kali which deteriorates all the good qualities of the human being.
The Search for Krishna
Since early childhood I have sought the authentic answer, the true purpose, of what it is to be alive. Led only by instinct and intuition through the emptiness of contrived human existence, I made my way through the years, ever searching for something real.
I first heard the Lord's name at the age of 12, from a friend who shared with me the stories of Radha and Krishna, Sita and Rama, the Gopis and the cowherd boys. Not so long after I picked up a series of books, classified as "young adult", which recounted on an allegorical plane, the qualities and mercy of Krishna when He appeared, 5,000 years ago. And so bit by bit I stored these treasures deep in my heart, knowing that someday, they would be transformed from uncut gems to immaculate and priceless jewels.
Not so long ago, nearing the end of my 22nd year, I encountered the Soul who was to bring me to the Krishna Consciousness Movement--my Vartna Pradaksha Guru. She invited me to distribute Prsad (blessed food that has been offered and sanctified by the Lord) at Skid Row, a dangerous part of downtown Los Angeles. Hesitantly I agreed, knowing in my heart that this act would forever alter the course of my life.
And so it did. What began as a humanitarian act transformed into my sudden exposure to this incomprehensibly vast path of Bhakti, the yoga of spiritual devotion.
This person shared with me the writings of my Guru, the pure devotee of Lord Krishna, A.C. Bhkativedanta Swami Prabhupada. And Prabhupada's words began to touch my heart and awaken the sleeping Soul that is me, bit by bit. "Chant!" He says. And I chanted. And I continue to chant.
By the mercy of His Divine Grace, A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, I continue to learn how to live in the service of the Supreme Lord, Sri Krishna.

servant of the servant of the servant of the servant,
ten thousand times the servant.
this Soul has traveled far and wide throughout this
universe, in search of but one treasure,
one unmistakeable gem.
life upon life,
form after form,
ever searching.
armed with but a heart,
and a subtle awareness
of the nature of things,
have i wandered....
He had me all along,
i know.
but how delicious it all was!
and is,
perpetual.
to feel the depth of longing!
smiles behind
the sorrow of separation
the bitter(sweet)ness
of illusions, once cherished
now, evaporate
(hindsight, it is said to be, 20/20)
This name, i sought,
this name!
it has me now,
and joyfully surrendered,
this tongue shall not be silenced.

You are what you eat.
Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocrities. The latter cannot understand it when a man does not thoughtlessly submit to hereditary prejudices but honestly and courageously uses his intelligence.
