DID YOU KNOW......
These two Bronx born sisters actually began their singing & dancing career as children. When they began sneaking down to the Village as teenagers they were inundated into the glam trash scene. One of their first performances was in the legendary "Palm Casino Revue" with glam icons Gorilla Rose, Tomata du Plenty, and members of the Cockettes. Jayne County also got her start in the Palm Casino Revue.
The first rock band they sang in was "Bonsai Babies" with Debbie Harry and Chris Stein. They used to play at a club on the Bowery called "Hilly’s". Punk historians know that the band changed their name to "Blondie" and the club to "CBGB". Tish and Snooky were in the original Blondie lineup that included Television’s Fred Smith.
The punk rock explosion inspired Tish and Snooky to start their own band, Sic F*cks. Certainly of the most visual punk act of its time, thanks to the presence of Tish & Snooky dressed in outrageous outfits such as nun’s habits with stockings, garter belts and spike heels.
During the same time, year 1977, they started "MANIC PANIC" , the first punk boutique in the U.S.A. Tish handmade Son of Sam Tee shirts worn by punk stars like Stiv Bators of the Dead Boys.
After 30 years Tish & Snooky still are doing pretty much the same thing: running MANIC PANIC and doing rock shows with the Sic F*cks or all-star line ups with the likes of Patti Smith, Moby, Robert Gordon, & members of New York Dolls in "20th Century Boy: T Rex 30th Anniversary" and for St. Patrick’s Day "Joe Hurley’s Irish Revue".
