Karya Pitts

In Christmas of 2001, I was given a “ Twas The Night Before Christmas Book,” as a gift. The gift was intended to inspire me to create unforgettable holiday memories with my family. Two years later, I gave birth to my son Kaelen. On his first Christmas, I picked up the book and began reading it to him. While I thought the story was lovely, I quickly realized it wasn’t going to be our story. That realization prompted me to revisit my childhood and try to recapture some of my most memorable holiday experiences. It is my hope that this book inspires children from nontraditional homes and environments to hold on to their memories and follow their dreams. There is joy in every situation; it is up to you to find it. I would like to dedicate this book to Shamika and Takenya for giving me a gift that inspired me to be creative.With Sincere Appreciation, Karya
